How to keep 6 month old out of the sun?

I also agree that a 6-month old baby will be fine in a stroller and probably a lot more comfortable than in a car seat for a long time. When I bought my travel system I was told that I should limit the baby's time in the car seat as much as possible as it isn't good for their backs to keep them in it for hours (obviously on a long car trip you make an exception and keep them in it). So I would highly recommend a stroller both for your baby's comfort but also for ease of use for you.

Your baby is so cute!! I presume that's her birthday cake she's getting stuck into! Belated Happy Birthday to her! Madison is a beautiful name!!! My little girl will be one next Sunday, hope she enjoys her cake as much as Madison did!!!

I second the recommendation of using solarveil material. The best thing about it is it's see through. Also, Rit makes a wash-in sun guard for clothes. Check that out, I've used it before and it works really well. I suppose you could buy a see-through gauze type of material and put the sun guard on it. It is safe for babies.

I also recommend a solarveil sling, or a cotton sling instead of the Bjorn. The Bjorn has so much padding, that my daughter was always very hot in it, even in cool weather.

Clip on fans are a must. I bought 2 from QVC online that use batteries and also have a little light show. It's just too cute for babies.

And like everyone said, a 6 month old should be able to sit up mostly, even if it's not on his or her own totally yet. The baby will probably enjoy Disney a lot more from a sitting position in the stroller than staring up at the sky in a car seat.

We took my daughter when she was 8 months old. It was such a blast, she loved everything.
