how to handle line/queue and pregnancy

It just dawned on me that this might be a problem. When my family is going to WDW, I will be 37 weeks pregnant (yes my OB OK'd me to go). DH, DS(3) and I are veterans, but it will be the first time for the rest of our family (5 kids: girls 22 and 20; boys 17,15,13). DH's kids bros and sis', but they live with us now.

I want very badly to stand in the lines with them as they discover the magic that makes Disney, Disney. The little details, etc. I know that many of the rides I can't ride, but was assuming that I could still stand in line and then "chicken out" when it was time to board. The rides that load and unload in the same place, used to allow non-riders to just step through the ride to the exit side, and then wait for their party at the exit. Do they still allow that? I dread the idea of spending large blocks of time scouting out a place to sit when I am not tired, and then holding down the bench for the reportedly long wait times. (We'll be at WDW May 31 to June 5). Of course, if I am tired, I will gladly hold down a bench! :)

Same thing for DS(3), for the rides he is too small to be on (he's 44"). He would NOT be a happy camper if he had to be away from dad and all of his aunts and uncles for an extended time, if there are long wait times. However, he is very grown-up and understanding about not being able to ride if he is too small. I'm assuming that they'll let him stand in line, too, and just "chicken out" and wait at the exit with mom. :) Do you think that the CM's at the entrance will not allow the two of us to wait with our family? Help! All opinions and advice are gladly welcomed.

I don't see why they wouldn't let you wait with your family and just use the "chicken" exit. As for standing, I remember being 37 weeks and just the thought of standing for a long period of time was bad enough so I don't know what you could do about that except maybe go by the posted wait times. If it seems too long for you, sit on a bench somewhere, if it seems tolerable go for it. Good luck and have a great trip.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I read a post about a weird child swap experience, and my mind started wandering down Worry Way. Thanks for the reassurance. I can't wait to see their faces when we get there!!

I count my blessings that both my last pregnancy and this one have been pleasant experiences at the end. Makes up for HORRIBLE beginnings! :) With my last PG, we went to a large rollercoaster and water park 4 days before they induced me, and I had a blast. So far, this PG seems much like the last one. Since I'm not very big (started maternity wear 3 weeks ago), I suppose that helps.

Wow, I was in maternity near the end of my first trimester. Anyway, have a great trip.

You should be fine taking the chicken exit. After all they can't make you ride anything you don't want to or cannot ride due to your pregnancy. I am going (only at 30 weeks though) with friends in September who have never been (well she had been there when she was 12 but doesn't remember anything hardly) and am excited to go through all the pre-show and lines to see their reactions. I'm only a little disappointed I won't be able to see their reactions on things like the TOT and RNRC - if she doesn't chicken out too :D
