Hi folks, this will be our first trip to WDW during Halloween. There are many questions I have but to list a few:

When and where can we trick or treat in WDW?

Can we trick or treat anywhere in WDW or is it just in MK on the 31st?

Is there trick or treating only on the 31st or is it during every MNSSHP?

We are going to MNSSHP on Nov. 1st. Any Halloween advice is much appreciated!

Thanks!

There is a trick or treating path set up in MK during every MNSSHP. It'll be on the map you receive, and they'll give you a small bag for candy. There might be Halloween activities going on in the resorts; I'm not sure. I do believe MK is the only park with trick or treating.

The resorts all have schedules of events, games, crafts Halloween themed and I believe they also do some trick or treating?

Thanks for the replies, I'll check into any events at the resorts.

What do you suggest to do on the 31st since we're going to the party on the 1st? Should we treat it as a regular park day (at other parks besides MK) or should the kids dress up and wear their costumes?

Your resort will have something going on, or at least be giving out candy in the lobby (ours did that last year). Kids can pretty much wear costumes every day if they wish, but if they're wearing something special for Halloween, they might want to save it for the party. Definitely go to the parks on Halloween day, although the only park that will be celebrating will be MK - and everything is pretty much only party specific.

During your party you'll be able to Trick or Treat all over the Magic Kingdom, even the parents! You guys will have an amazing time!

We are going to the party on Nov. 1 as well. I chose that date because we got AP discount rates and when I saw that many of the resorts had activities on Halloween, I thought it would be fun to resort hop. Look up Kenny the Pirate resort Halloween activities, someone linked to them a few weeks back. I know POR FW has character greetings and other fun things. I was thinking of maybe doing GF, Poly and CR if they have stuff going on too.

We go to MNSSHP just about every other year and it our year again this year. We have done a day or two prior and Nov. 1 before, but I would have to say the 31st is the most fun especially when it falls during the week as the crowds are not QUITE so crazy. I expect crazy madness this year, but we are going all the way to Disney so what better place to be on that day. When we do MNSSHP on those alternate days we treat it as Halloween and just do a regular park day on H'ween. There are 5 kids here and they really do not care that it is not H'ween on THAT day because when you get to the park it will FEEL like H'ween.

You will see some absolutely fabulous costumes. Have your camera ready, or if you will be one of those fab-o costumes be ready to be pointed at and asked to have your picture taken! (We go all out and original so we usually get the finger points ;o )

When you get to the park you will be given a map showing where the candy handouts are throughout the park. Usually at least one spot in each "land" and they have had "no nut" and "Natural snack" lines before (ie-raisins). Folks tend to miss the one in front of the Jungle Cruise as it is down the steps.

There is trick or treating and costumes on every day of the event at MK. That is what the ticket gets you, along with the benefit of returning as many times as you want to each candy line (until they are gone) and reduced ride lines during MNSSHP times. The park is basically closed to all other guests during the event times, but lots of folks still mill around the entrance and the shops. They are not supposed to be allowed on rides without their special wrist band. Usually within an hour or so you will notice the crowds have thinned out and you can enjoy the benefit of the price you paid.

Have a grand time and hope you enjoy it so much it becomes a "pilgrimage" like it has for us. Please excuse the novel, I just get excited talking about Disney!!
