Visiting Universal Studios next Monday - Thursday. We won't have a car and want to use either the i-Ride trolley or the Lynx buses to get to and from the parks. What's the best way to do this?

NB: yes, I know cabs are easier. We will be taking a cab home if we leave the parks late at night. However I'm not prepared to spend the cab fare from Sea World to Universal say 8 times over a 4-day trip.

Here is the link for Lynx which shows the schedules and maps for the buses.

if you miss the bus at seaworld, it could take you one hour and a half to get to universal. that's from start to finish once you leave disney.

one of the busses leaves on the hour and the other on the half hour.

we did this years ago.
4 kids and myself to save money.

i wanted to kill my kids as we missed a bus and they had melt downs over it.
check out the schedules in advance so it doesn't happen to you.

We're not going to Disney. We're staying near Sea World. There's only two of us, so cabs are simply not economical for a minimum of one round trip per day.

Check to see if the hotel you're staying at offers free shuttle service to UO. Many do.

If yours doesn't, they may be able to direct you to one that does. It doesn't seem like the shuttle bus drivers much care where you are actually staying if you get on at one of their regular stops.

BTW, some Lynx buses go to the bus station in UO. The I-Ride Trolley can get you close to Universal property, but you'll still have a longish walk.

They might also offer a shuttle for a very reasonable rate...before we moved here, we always used to take the Mears shuttle from WDW to USF.

Is LYNX a good choice when trying to get from Orlando International to Universal Orlando? I am staying at an off-site hotel within walking distance of Universal, so I was hoping LYNX could take from the airport to there, and I'd have an easy walk.

Where is LYNX located at the airport? Do I just get on the bus and pay the driver and tell him where I want to go? Or what?

Thanks :clown:

It would take you a long time to get from OIA to Universal but it's certainly cheap enough. Here is the link to the schedule I found on the website:

Ah, thank you Metro. I didnt realise it would take so long though. It really isnt a big deal. An extra hour of waiting for a dirt cheap price is worth it IMO.

Where is the LYNX stop at the OIA located? Any idea?

However, if I did end up wanting to take a faster rought, what should I look into? I dont want to take a taxi or limo or anything like that. What about shuttles?

I'll let the posters who actually use the airport answer those questions for you. Being a local, I never to go the airport unless absolutely necessary.
