How to get to the boardwalk area using Disney transportation?

We're looking at maybe Captain's Grille for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Is it an easy walk from the Boardwalk area? Another boat ride. I know it's off the beaten path . . . just not sure how far.

As mentioned above, the Captain's Grille is in the Yacht Club.
You can see the Yacht Club on my map in my previous post #10 in this thread.

The walk there from Boardwalk takes about 5-10 minutes (depending on your pace,) or you can take a Friendship boat directly across the lake to the Yacht Club from Boardwalk.

The Captain's Grill is in the Yacht Club. Which is about a 5 minute walk from middle of Boardwalk. You will be surprised how close everything is - including the EPCOT entrance at end of Boardwalk. You mention going to Boardwalk at lunch time. Later in the day is when the free entertainment comes out. This is not a hugh area but nice one. In fact we have stayed at Boardwalk Inn and in February will be staying at the Beach Club. It is SOOO convenient and time effective if you are going to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.

There won't be anything to see on the Boardwalk at lunchtime - entertainment and games don't start until evening. The sit down restaurants aren't even open with the exception of ESPN and Big River.

If you don't want to walk over to the Beach/Yacht for Captain's Grill, take the boat at BW and make sure you get on the side going to DHS. That boat will go right across the lake to the Yacht Club dock.

AH! Thank you! I didn't realize that. We'll figure something else out to do during the day (maybe just sleep more since we'll be coming off of four straight days of RD at various parks! :rotfl2:) and do the Boardwalk area/Captain's Grille for dinner.

You guys have been so helpful. Thanks!!

Boardwalk park busses are BW/Swan/Dolphin. YC/BC have their own. The Downtown Disney bus goes to all 5.

We only use the buses for MK and recall being the last drop-off after pulling into every Epcot Resort. That's good to know that's no longer the case.

It can still be the case, depending on time of day, park hours, and just plain luck. But most of the time, buses from MK & AK are split between YC/BC and the other Epcot resorts.

And lately, some buses from MK are stopping at Swan & Dolphin before BW, so Guests at the Dolphin don't get consistently left behind by full buses.

As other have said, from Pop - Bus to DHS and walk or boat to BW. The distance from the bus stop to BW is about .75 miles - depending on where on the BW you go. For most people, is takes less that 20 minutes to walk. It takes more time than that to take the boat (but the boat ride is fun)
The BW, YC and BC all are on Crescent Lake . The walk around Crescent Lake from the same starting and ending point is .89 miles (as I recall - might be .94? - Anyway, less than a mile) So BW to Captains Grill is less than a mile if you walk- since you're only going 1/2 - 2/3 around Crsecent lake depending on whether you go clockwise or counter clockwise.

However, many times we have taken a cab from from BW to Pop. It's just about 2 miles and usually costs about $10 +/- including tip. Well worth efficiency and convenience.

I witnessed that last week. My room was on the far end by Jellyrolls, I thought I would be smart to walk over to the Swan. Just missed the bus and the next one went Swan-Dolphin-Boardwalk.

OK thanks all...I recall staying at S\D and stopping elsewhere first on the way back...I though it was CBR, but it must have been BW

It's unfortunate there is not some bus that makes rounds of the resorts to get you to boardwalk...or more importantly back later at night...

Most of the time DTD bus is the only option..unless you grab a taxi.

They do at night. If you are leaving the BW area late in the evening, when parks are closed, the DTD buses will usually make other stops. It isn't quick, but it's doable. At least that was the case in the past.

I just don't think there is enough to do at BW to stay late into the night. Yes, Jellyrolls is fun, but not a ton of people are looking for transport late at night.

I would definitely do the Boardwalk later in the day as that is when the entertainment starts. I think Disney really misses out on taking advantage of this area. It is my daughters favorite place, she loves the jugglers, magicians and like. I wish they would go back to the time when the Coronado buses stopped there.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your maps! Awesome... Perfection...

Do you like mini-golf? If so, you can walk over to Fantasia Gardens! It would take about 10 minutes from the Boardwalk and you can see its location on Robo's map.
