I thought this would be the best place to post this since we will be at the Fort and I am sure someone else has run into this problem at the Fort.
We are going to do the train tour at Magic Kingdom. We have to be there by 7-7:15 am. The tour leaves at 7:30 sharp. What is the best way to get there that early? I have heard some say that the boats and busses will be running in time and some say they won't. I have heard about getting to the Contemporary and walking over.
We won't have a car. (too bad we can't drive the golf cart over- haha):rotfl:
This will be the second week in December.
Thanks for your help.

We ran into this problem in February for an early KTTK tour. The boats started running at 6:45, but didn't go directly to the Magic Kingdom that early. It dropped us off at the Contemporary Resort, and we thought it would be faster to take the monorail instead of walking. BIG MISTAKE! There was a problem with the monorail car, and we got stranded for about 15 minutes. We barely made it to our tour on time. I would suggest walking. I think it is about a 10 minute walk from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom. You are going to be cutting really close though.

It is a short walk from the Cont. Hotel to the front gate of the Magic Kingdom that is what we didi in Oct. but we had a car. You will love the Behind the Steam Tour it was great ours lasted till almost 10:30 our guide was great, he was also one that helped create this tour.

Thanks guys. If the boat leaves at that time and goes to the Contemporary we should be good to go. (I hope) We will just walk from there.

dblr- we are really looking forward to this tour. My dh loves trains. I have heard loads of great things about it.

lDm,

We did the train tour back in May 2006. We always stay at FW and were advised to drive to the Contemporary and walk to the MK front entrance which we did. I advise (consistent with the previous advice) to take the first boat to the Contemporary (or MK) and walk to the gate since you don't have a car. It will be a pleasant walk in December.... You will be fine.

I am a steam train fan plus a DIS fan so the tour was great for me. I had read Michael Broggie's book about the DL trains which was a great "preview" to the tour.

You did a great thing for DH....I'd say he owes you a BIG one!
