How to get to Hoop Dee Doo?

My family is going to Hopp Dee Do for the first time this year. What's the best way to get there from MK? How early before your ADR would you leave MK by to get there?

We always go to the 6:15 show, so we make sure we are in line for the boat to FW at 5:15, just in case. We have gotten there with plenty of time to get in line to check in and walk around a bit. I like to give an hour, because you just never know.. In 2013, the boat had to make an unexpected stop at WL and we were almost late getting there, but made it right on time.

We have always taken the boat over. It is a nice and relaxing ride. Only one time there was thunder/lightening, and the boats weren't running. So we took a quick cab from Bay Lake Tower. The only thing with this, is that we had to use the internal buses when we got to FW. It was a little confusing but still wasn't a problem. We just prefer to take the boat from MK if we can.

Hour is good. Boat to FW or FWL and walk the path (if it's open).

the boat is the way to go and as others have said allow an hour from dock to dock in case you just miss the boat. it is about a20 minute ride over and a very short walkfrom gock to HDDR. plus there is a playground for kids to run off engery if time allows. playground is nothing fancy think city park playground

Good thing about the boat is it drops you off at the back of Fort Wilderness where the HDDR is located. If you take a bus, then you have to take another Fort bus from the front to the back. Just waaaay easier going by boat to the Fort from MK.
