We have our first on-site stay planned for the end of Sept. We will be arriving around 7:00 pm on a Saturday and I have made PS at Chef Mickey's for 8:30 pm. Since this is our first on-site stay, I am a newbie at using WDW transportation to get from place to place. What is the best way to get from POFQ to Chef Mickey's? I'm guessing to take the bus from POFQ to the Ticket and Transportation Center. Then hop the monorail to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's.

Also, we would like to take a loop around on the monorail to see MK and Epcot before returning to our room. Will we need to take the same monorail that brings us to the Contemporary or is there a separate monorail that loops around the parks?

Thanks for your input!!!!:teeth:

You can also take the bus to MK as well and take the monorail to the Contemporary. I think there are two separate monorails - one that does the loop to MK-Contemporary-ticket & trans center-Poly-GF and one that goes to MK-Ticket & Trans-EPCOT

You should take the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom and either take the monorail or walk to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's.
Since your PS is at 8:30pm I doubt that you will be out of there much before 9:45pm or so. Keep in mind that Epcot closes at 10:00pm. You can take the monorail from the hotel (CR) to the TTC and switch to the Epcot monoral. You must go down the ramp and up the other side at TTC. It may be pretty crowded with Epcot closing. The monoral to the TTC from the Contemporary might be pretty crowded also if the MK is closing.
Suggest you check your park hours before doing this. It might be better if you do this monorail loop another day.

Be sure to check the park hours closely. You MAY be able to get a bus to MK, if not you will have to take a bus to an open park (Epcot) or to Downtown Disney and change buses. I would recommend a bus to Epcot IF you cannot get one to MK - then pick up monorail or bus to Cont.

After dinner you will probably have to go to Downtown Disney and change bus (or boat) to POFQ.

Bus tips:
From hotel to hotel - change buses at an open park - buses generally run for 1 hour after park closes. After parks close, only place to change buses is Downtown Disney - this can be a long ride from some hotels. For POFQ - know what time the last boats run from DD - this may be quicker than a bus at night.

I enjoy the WDW transportation system but you need to understand your options and give yourself lots of time. We will often take a bus to a hotel or park with a boat link and ride the boat to our destination. Boats are like the monorail - limited to certain points - I find they are a great way to go Epcot to MGM and back to WS, and MK to FW.

Hi carolinagirl,

We stayed at POR last December and did Chef Mickeys . We took the bus to the MK and then just walked over to the Contemporary resort, it's only a 5 minute walk. Afterword we took the bus to Downtown Disney and hoped on the boat back to POR. We just loved Chef Mickey's by the way.

Thank you, everyone, for your replys! They have been very helpful! :D

IF YOU HAVE A CAR JUST DRIVE OVER, FASTER AND YOUR RIGHT IN THE HOTEL PARKING LOT, USE VALET AND YOUR RIGHT AT THE DOOR, THATS WHAT I DID FOR CG LAST NEW YEARS!!
