Hi all! We are renting a car and coming over from POFQ for an 8am breakfast on a friend's recommendation, but then he mentioned that you have to park on one end and the restaurant is over a mile away on the other side! Whats the best way to get from the parking lot to the restaurant? Do the buses there run very often or will we need to be parked and waiting very much before our time to make it there? Should we just park at the T&TC and take a boat...? What would you do? :confused3

You can park in the overflow lot, which now I think you have to go thru the security booth entrance and then take the internal bus to Trails End, I think that is your best way.

You have a couple of choices.

You could drive to the Fort Wilderness parking lot, and then take any of the Settlement buses, then a short stroll to Trails End. The internal buses start at like 6:30 am.

Or, if you didn't want to drive at all, then you could take a bus to Magic Kingdom, then walk over to the Contemporary marina, then take a small launch from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness. Then you will have a short stroll over Trails End.

The buses from your resort to Magic Kingdom start at 6:30 am, and the small launch that runs Cont, WL, FW, starts at 6:45 am.

That's you rbest bet. Why rent a car when the Disney busses and boats will do it all for you?

I would skip the trails end all together. I've had better food at the ball game.

lol, hopefully that's not true for us too...! I'm willing to try it though since he is my boss and is expecting a report back. ;)

We got the car to visit resorts easier and to make a couple of quick jets from parks to resort and back to another park (I really should have stayed another day at least :sad2: ) and over to DTD (hour on the buses from AK supposedly? no thank you!) so now that I have it I may as well use it! Can I get through to the overflow even if the regular one is not full/ Im not staying there? How often does the internal bus go by? Thanks for all the info!

Yes, you can get to the parking lot no problem. Just go to the guard shack and tell them you are eating at Trails End, then park in any available space. The parking lots used to be separate and one was called overflow, but really, it is now just one parking lot. Then walk over to the bus stop. The buses should come every 10 - 15 minutes. You have three choices. Yellow Settlement, Purple Settlement, Orange Settlement.

Yellow is you best choice, followed by Purple, then Orange is the slowest. If an Orange shows up first, I would honestly wait on a Yellow or Purple.

Then after breakfast go back to the bus stop and wait on a Yellow, Purple, or Orange Outpost bus. Once again Yellow is fastest, then Purple, then Orange.

However, if you want a tour of a lot of the campground and are not in a hurry, then Orange will cover the most distance.
