I've seen a couple threads here for tshirt designs. They are really cute, I'd love to get some for our trip in May. But I don't know how! Once you have the design, is there a company that you use to get the shirts printed? Do you have to email them an image of what you want? Does it take a long time to get them back?

Thanks!

Jennifer

Most people here copy the design to their computer, print it on transfer paper, and iron it on their own tshirts. Some companies will not print a disney graphic on tshirts due to copyright concerns. I have been sucessful in the past with Cafepress. They initially emailed me and told me the images that I submitted may not be able to be printed by them and were being reviewed. A couple days later I got an email saying my shirts had been printed and were on the way...

You can go to zazzle.com and design your own tshirt with their disney graphics.

Hope this helps a little. Welcome to the board.

Transfer paper? Where do you get that? And can you use just regular printing ink, or do you have to get special stuff?

I was looking at CafePress.com and you can upload your own designs and they'll make the T-shirt for you.

I use Avery brand transfer paper that I got at Walmart - there is different kinds for light and dark shirts. I just printed my designs off of my home color printer - remember you have to mirror image the design. It's super easy!! I'm using a few for my son's birthday party give aways instead of goodie bags - I bought boys undershirts at walmart to keep te costs lower. Michael's craft stores also have good shirts, specially if you get them on sale

Ok, got some transfer paper from Hobby Lobby, and got the t-shirts from Michaels. The shirts at Hobby Lobby seemed a bit thin, and maybe a bit too feminine for DH to wear. So we'll see how the Michaels ones look. I think for the actual shirts i plan to make for our trip, I might spluge and see if I can find some plain white Haines or FOTL ones. The Michaels ones are Jerzees, so not too bad, but still kind of thin.

I'll let you know how they turn out!!

Thanks!

PS - oh yeah, i guess i have to buy an iron too. :scared1:

O.K. this is my first attempt at trying any of these things so please please bear with me... when I see an image I like do I just save it to my computer and then open it in the software I want to use to print it.

I guess what I am confused about is if I see a cute plain graphic I would like to use can I just right click it and then save it and then use the software to print it or am I missing something else I need to do?

Thanks!!!

That's all ya do!

If you want to let the person that did the design know that you are using it it will make them feel good and encourage them to do more...:goodvibes

yes, just right click on the design you like and save it to your computer. There were several "generic" ones that I found to use on my trip next month. If there is something you want personalized you can either PM the DISigner or post in the thread. They are all very helpful and will fill your request as soon as they can.

I'm very excited to make my shirts. I bought most of them at Michael's-they are 2 for $5 this week. I had to get dh's at HL because he needed a larger size. I got the transfer paper-a 10 pack at Michael's with the 40% off coupon.

Thanks!!!

I am so excited about trying to make some. We just got Photoshop, but now I have to get rid of some things on my computer to free up enough space to get it on it. LOL!! I will let you know how it goes!!

I was able to get some really nice shirts at a very reasonable price from jiffyshirts.com. I purchased the Gildan 2000 and they are a nice heavyweight shirt and came in a variety of colors and sizes. I ordered them late on a Monday night and they were here by Wednesday afternoon...thought that was really quick service and like I mentioned very reasonably priced. Hope this is helpful.:)
