How to get system to use Dining Plan instead of prepaying by CC?

Help, I'm so confused!

I have read numerous people on this board who have purchased the dining plan and then gone ahead and booked a prepaid meal such as the Luau or CRT, and the system then gives them the option of using dining plan credits to reserve or a credit card. I previously posted that this has never worked for me, and was told that I was incorrect.

I have a dining plan for a September trip, and just went to book the Luau. It again didn't give me the option of using dining credits to reserve and wanted to charge my credit card. I know I booked the right category to use with the plan (Category 2, at 5:15). Does anyone have any advice as to why the option to use credits to prepay shows up for some people and not others? Thank you !

When I booked HDDR in October I needed to call. It was no problem over the phone.

^ thank you! I unfortunately can't call as the long distance charges are crazy. I've read about people being able to do it online, and am wondering how that's possible!

I haven't tried with the Luau but booked HDDR 2 weeks ago. At first I accidentally booked the wrong category and my cc was charged. I cancelled that (cc was refunded) and rebooked the proper category and my cc was not charged. I don't remember being asked anything special, the system just knew I had a dining plan as it was linked in MDE and my cc was not charged.

It's just luck of the draw. CRT has never recognized a dining plan for me. Always had the same problem and always had to call.
