How to get summer reservations at BWV

I have a December use year and I am wondering how to get summer reservations at BWV. I guess that I would have to have banked points and make the reservations 12 months in advance. Is that my only option? If I call right in December for the next summer do you think I will have any luck getting my date? Thanks for any input. Kristin

Call now - at least for June or most of July. You can book your home resort at the 11 month window as long you have points available for the time you travel - not the time you book. That is, since you have a December use year you will have your 2001 allotment available for July 2002 so you can make a resevation now for as late as July 14.

If you own at BWV, you can book 11 months in advance of your stay, not 12. If you own somewhere else, you can book 7 months in advance.

You say that your use year is December. I can see how a Decemeber use year could be confusing .

The allotmemt of points that you will receive in December 2001 will last you through November 2002. If you wish to book something in the summer of 2002 you don't have to bank from your upcoming allotment to make those reservations, they are already in the correct "year". Also, you don't have to wait to physically have the points to use them to book something. If you own at BWV, you can make reservations for June and half of July 2002 using your December 2001 points right now.

However, you may still have to bank some points. Do you have any points left from the December 2000 allotment? If so and you don't intend to use them by December 1 those points should be banked into the 2001 use year. You have until the end of this month to bank up to 50% of your 2000 points and until the end of September to bank up to 25% of your 2000 points.

Just some simple rules to remember:

1. Your use year determines when points are issued and to when there are good. Points issued Dec 1,2001 are good to Nov 30, 2002. And they are good for a trip during that period.

2. That use year has nothing to do with when you can call to make ressies (which is always 11 months in advance at home resort, 7 at others) and when you can go (any time of year).

3. The points you use for a trip are determined by the date you will be at WDW not the date you call to reserve. Thus your points to be issued Dec 2001 are good for a summer 2002 trip and there is no banking or borrowing involved to use those points for that trip. You would need to bank only if you want to use Dec 2000 to Nov 2001 points for that summer 2002 trip.

Bottom Line: If you want to go in summer 2002 you can call to reserve your home resort now if you are talking about a trip in June or first half of July, and if you want to use Dec 2001 points you would just do so without banking.
