I have a small stain on one of my favorite shirts and I'm not quite sure what it is. But it is enough to bother me. I was wondering if you all had some great stain fighting techniques. Thanks!

Sue

Take Oxy-Clean powder and rub a little bit into a psate with water. Rub in into the stain and let it sit a minute, then launder as usual. This is also great on the slight discoloration on white shirts from anti-perspirants. They will whiten with the first application of the Oxy-Cleann and water paste.

That is exactly what I was going to say!! !It is the best. I mix it with every load of laundry too.

I use the Shout brand of Oxy-Clean. I think it is even better than normal Oxy-Clean. There has never been anything (besides rust) that it could not remove.

I agree - try oxy clean.

My DD had a white shirt that was stained with tea. I had washed and dried it before noticing. I took it and soaked it in the sink in oxy clean overnight, then washed it (added a scoop to the washer) and it came out completely.

I swear by Zout stain remover. It's taken out stains of things that have been through the washer and dryer. Just spray a little on, rub it in and let it sit awhile before washing. It might take more than one treatment but the stain should come out.

Ok a lady at work just told me this ( it was a specialty of her Mom's) and it even takes out stains that have been baked in by the dryer.

Lestoil..... it stinks to high heaven but put it directly on the stain and scrub it with a toothbrush. Soak it in the sink if it's stubborn. Mine usually will comeout in the wash though.

Good luck!

Thanks so much everyone! I will try some of these the next time I do laundry.

I used to use Zout, but I have found something better. It is called Magic Wand and it is an inexpensive stain stick that works wonders. I have gotten out ball point pen, old blood and chocolate stains that had been previously laundered, grape juice, you name it. You can find it in Joann's Fabric and some craft stores, but I am not sure where else, I just know it is the best stain remover I have ever used.

Oh man, am I ever glad I found this thread!

DS left a gel marker in his pants pocket. With those huge, bulky cargo pockets, I didn't notice it before putting it in the wash...

My whole load of khaki pants, shorts, etc. now has black marks all over. Everything is currently in the wash for the THIRD time, with different stain removers used each time.

Now I have more options in case I have to run them through yet again!!
