Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get picked to ride the floats during the parades?

Thanks,
Jennifer

DH and I were chosen to be the Grand Marshalls of the Share A Dream Come True parade in the Magic Kingdom last February. What it boils down to is luck, being at the right place at the right time. There's no way you could plan for something like this.

We were walking down Main Street during early entry, just talking and laughing and having a great time. A CM (Robin) stopped us and started talking to us. After chatting for about 5-10 minutes, she asked us if we were planning to be at MK all day and would we like to be the Grand Marshalls of the parade. Like we would say no! :D

It was an awesome experience, but I'm sure it'll never happen again. When in WDW, you have to let the magic happen, you can't make it or expect it to happen. Have a great time on your trip, sprinkling LOTS of pixie dust on you and your family.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

So true, so true! My daughter & I were walking down Main Street at the beginning of a MNSSHP when we were stopped by a gentleman who asked me if it would be okay if my daughter would be one of the Grand Marshals for the "Boo To You Halloween Parade." I said yes.

At the end of the parade, after my daughter got off the float, she was given a certificate: click here for photo.

It was a ~magical~ experience for her. I'll never forget it.

my kids were picked for afternoon snowglobe parade at breakfast in the castle. Prince Charming told us were to meet in the afternoon and we woried fo the next four hours that they would not see our kids . they did a find them and it made the kids real happy.

We had the same experience as aladdinsgirl in January 2003. It was even the same CM - Robin! What a great time we had!!!

We have been to WDW about 50 times and this has never happened to us before - so it must be attributed to luck and that old Disney magic.

The fact that we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary made it even more special ;-)

We were Grand Marshalls in Dec. I have to agree with everyone else about it being random.

It was one of the best moments of my life. I will never forget that feeling. My husband was beaming from ear to ear and waving to everybody. My 2 children had a great time too.

We were in WDW last week and on Thursday, March 4 we were chosen to be Grand Marshall's for the 3:00 PM MK Parade. My DD (9) and DS (7) loved it. Totally random - we were approached by a CM (Dean) on Main Street and after chatting for a few minutes, he asked if we'd be interested in being GM's. It was awesome - we rode in an antique fire engine in front of the P-Rade (and behind the MK marching band) and waved to everyone. Got pictures and a certificate. Very cool...
