I got home from WDW on Tuesday morning and I still feel like death warmed up. I can't get my sleeping patterns sorted and although I'm trying to eat at proper meal times I'm getting hungry on Florida time. I've got no enthusiasm or concentration span to do anything - I've started my trip report and abandoned it 3 times.

What does everyone else do to get over this? I don't remember it being so bad on past trips.

I've found the best cure to be having to go back into work the next day, heh! Did it last year and will be again this year, not ideal but I didn't/don't really have a choice (such is the life of a temp on a long-term contract!) Aside from that I admit i've used Proplus and Kalms herbal sleeping tablets to try and force myself into the appropriate timezone, both in the UK and US and have found it works. They're not something I ever use more than once a year so I don't feel too bad about it ;)

I take melatonin tablets for a few nights when i get back, they do work as well, bought them in vitamin world (they own holland and barretts in the uk)

Thanks for your replies.

I think half the problem is that I don't go back to work until the 2nd September! I got up at 7am this morning to make DH a packed lunch but fell asleep on the settee once he'd left for work.

It took us a couple of weeks this time around.
We couldn't get into a routine whatsoever it was only until school routines and work kicked in we was feeling less zombified. We forced ourselves to stay awake in the daytime so we was tired in the evening..sounds easy believe me it wasn't :rotfl:

I must admit, Libby, I really struggle with jet lag when we come home too. My only advice would be to try and do as much as possible during the day and don't sleep, so you get a regular sleep pattern again. Easier said than done, I appreciate - I usually can't sleep at night and then don't want to get up in the morning

It's been a week now and things aren't a lot better. I was still awake at 3am this morning. It's never been this bad before.

P.S. I've also found myslef having a quiet sob too.

Oh bless you Libby  The sobbing is probably down to a combination of post-Disney blues and tiredness. Hope you are feeling better soon :goodvibes
