how to get invited to AP previews

In the past I've read about folks who get invited to annual pass previews of various attractions. With the new Frozen stuff coming up I'm curious as to whether there are any previews coming. We'll be there and are deluxe AP holders (we are upgrading to prem when we get there). How does one get notified of these previews, or do they just go out to SoCal passholders?

Some (but not all) of the "Frozen Fun" is sneak peek-ing for the general public this coming Saturday, 12/20 (Olaf's Snow Fest, the Anna and Elsa meet and greet and the sing-along in DCA; and the Storybook Land Canal Boat ride with the new Arendelle additions will be open by 12/20). All AP holders except Premium or Premier AP holders will be blocked out by that date.


The other things (Freeze the Night dance party and the Frozen-themed show at the Royal Theatre in Fantasyland) will be open as of 1/7, and the other AP block outs will have been lifted by that point.

So I guess what I am trying to say is that they could do an AP preview for the Frozen Fun opening on 1/7, since that will be the whole deal and not just some of the offerings -- but some of the wind will have been taken out of its sails by the general public sneak peek that is taking place starting on Saturday, 12/20 (and on through the rest of the month).

As far as I know, there have been no AP Frozen Fun preview invitations for anything pre-12/20, and it is already 12/17 now.

Usually, the Parks Blog will do a blog to announce AP previews, or you'd get an email. I know that some out of state folks get the invites too.

Lately they've been announced on Facebook, Twitter, the Parks blog and when you log into your account. Just keep checking all sources and hope you see one before it fills. Sometimes I get emails, but no matter how many times I've changed my email address they still send to the old address I used when I got my first AP 10+ years ago. I don't check it very often, but I do check the blog frequently.

I don't think there is any sure-fire way to get invited to the AP events in the parks. Some require you to be physically in the parks to sign up, others require that you respond to an email or letter. They also do targeted events (e.g., for folks who have an AP that is expiring soon). The best you can do is be sure to sign up for every possible form of communication and hope for the best.

There is a Facebook page for Disneyland AP holders (run by Disney) so it's a good place to start. However, it won't mention the targeted events.
