How to get Halloween Party tickets?

We have APs and are SO SAD to just find out about the Halloween Party at DL--and it's already sold out! For some reason, we didn't get any newsletter and are new AP holders (since June).

I know the tickets are sold out at the box office, anyone know of any other way to get them? Can you get them through a travel agency like DU per chance, or else if we booked a concierge room onsite to get any special benefits like tickets for Oct 27,28, 29 or 30?

Thanks for any info! :flower:

My guess sold out is sold out. Your only option would be to try eBay .

I really think Disney misjudge the demand for this type of event. Hopefully next year (if they do it) or any future events of this type are handled better.

I just checked Ebay and look what is for sale (among many others):

CHOOSE 10/27 OR 10/30 FOR ONLY $125.00 EACH

THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE 1 DISNEY HALLOWEEN SPECIAL EVENT TICKET held at Disney's California Adventure. 7:30pm to 10:30pm FREE DISNEYLAND PARKING

How sad is that? I have my tickets for the 21st - bought just enough for my family attending. Guess I could have bought more and 'ripped' people off too. I this this is very sad that people are allowed to buy so many extras and then resell them at outrageous prices. I also think it is sad that people who really want to attend pay these huge prices. It only fuels the fire.
Just my opinion......

Well I wouldn't say that it is allowed, but they certainly can get away with it, it seems.

I would imagine that most are aware they are paying much more then "face value" but are willing to do so, so that they may attend. Rememeber, in the end it is not the seller that sets the price is the buyer.

You are correct but morally I could never sell the tickets for that much knowing I only paid 15.00 each. I wish I could as I would have lots more money to play with but.........

Just looking forward to attending and counting my blessings I found out about this event on these boards. My AP mailer (or email) didn't come until much later.....

ugh, that is sad. Naively, I was hoping to find some for the actual value of the ticket, I didn't even think of people trying to exploit the event in that way.... :sad2:

Woah, I can't believe how much those are selling for out there. I was extremly fortunate that a fellow DISer offered to get me 2 tickets for Oct 21st when they were released for sale to AP holders.

I guess it would be a good way for AP holders to make some money (maybe even pay for the renewal of the next years AP).

I would hope not -- Disney has been putting small security measures in place to stop AP holders and other guests from taking advantage of these events and buying up the mdse and tickets only to sell them for a profit.

I'm hoping Disney catches on to that Ebay seller & stops them.

Hi Mary Jo,

I agree that Disney should step in and have ebay take those down. The tickets clearly say "not for resale". And unfortunately it isn't just 1 person on ebay, there are a bunch of them (and have been for awhile). Some of these tickets are actually selling for over $70-80 each.

As for the pricing of them, even if the seller puts them on at "Face Value" they will more then likely be bid higher (in some cases much higher) because, like yourself, people were unable to get them through Disney. Of course some who were unable to get them through Disney were unable because of those who purchased for the sole intent of putting them on eBay to make a couple $100.

It's not just for these events that you pay high prices for tickets. Concert tickets are the same, Baseball games, Football games etc.

It's unfair yes, but that's what makes the world go round.

I bought mine off eBay and I, for one, was happy that I had the opportunity. Unfortunately, I started to try to buy just as the tickets were hitting the double-face value price. That was last week. I see now they are a lot more.

I am looking forward to being in DCA with only 5,000 people and my DD will have a great time trick-or-treating. {shrug} I paid more than face value, but I consider it pay-back for all the baseball tickets I sold this summer.
