We're watching the Electric Water Pageant at the Poly beach at 9 p.m. We're staying at POP. Anyone know the best way to get back to our hotel? MK will be closed by then. I am guessing monorail to TTC, then bus to POP. Anyone know? Or would a taxi be better?

TTC sounds like your best bet. It is actually within walking distance of the Poly.

There are no Pop Century buses at TTC. If it is a little after 9PM, take the Monorail from TTC to Epcot, then hop on an Epcot bus to Pop.
If it is after 10PM, take the bus from Poly to DTD, then a bus to Pop.

You can't catch a bus to a resort at TTC - used to be the exception was the Wilderness Lodge/Ft. Wilderness but I don't know if their bus still stops there. This is because they moved all the resort bus stops to the Magic Kingdom gate.

My guess is that after 9 PM all theme parks will be closed. If Epcot were still open I would suggest that you walk to the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot, then switch to the Pop Century bus there. The buses run an hour after park closure the last I've heard, so you'd have to get to Epcot before 10.

If you don't like the odds on getting to Epcot, take the bus from the Polynesian to Downtown Disney and switch to the Pop Century bus there.

A taxi would definitely be easier if you don't mind paying for it.

I learned the hard way, just go to dtd and hop on the POP bus there!!!!!

The best way would be to catch a cab. If you don't want to do that the only I other way for sure is to take the bus to DTD and transfer to PC.:firefight

I second the Monorail from the TTC to Epcot then bus to the resort idea.

It's a brief walk from anywhere at the Poly to the TTC (5 minutes from the beach) so you'll get there in time to catch a Monorail to Epcot and then a bus to your resort. Going to DTD will add quite a bit of time to the trip (30-40 minutes at least).

Ooooh I'd definitely go to DTD and take a bus back to Pop-- in fact, that's exactly what we did after our dinner at Ohana.

If you take the monorail to Epcot, you're going to be caught in the Epcot closing mass exodus of people, and you'll find an extremely long line at the bus stop, and will most likely find yourselves standing for the return trip.

DTD may take a bit more time to get to but will be tons more pleasant in the end.

On our last stay, DH, DS and I stayed at the Poly. DH and I went out one night to the BW. We took the buses from the Poly to the BW and I believe it took over an hour. Coming back, we took a taxi. I believe it costs about 8.00 but we were back to the Poly in 10 minutes. In my opinion, definetly worth the money.

Quick Question: are non Poly guests (I have never stayed there) allowed to be on the beach at the Poly?

thanks

Anyone can go to the beach at the Poly.

Buses will typically run from the Magic Kingdom to resorts 90 minutes after the MK closes.

Buses will typically run from Epcot to resorts 75 minutes after Epcot closes.

There are NO resort buses from the TTC. (except WL/FW)

Probably so even though there are signs posted stating Use of the Beach is for Polynesian resort guests only.

Many times we have gone to eat at 'Ohana (not staying at the Polynesian) and then walked out to look at the pool area or beach area for a bit. No Poly police ever came after us. I would enjoy the view and not worry about it :)
