We are staying onsite at Disney but relatives are staying at Grande Vista (by Seaworld). If a cab is the only way has anyone done this and could you advise as to the cost. Is there any other way - Grande Vista does not shuttle.

We are owners at Marriott's Grande Vista and just made another visit end of July. It is VERY easy to get to WDW parks. Just make a left out of Grande Vista driveway...this is International Drive. You are going southbound. Continue about 5 minutes until you see signs making you bear right onto 536 west. As you make the turn just continue straight. You will come to a light....Buena Vista Suites will be on your right. At the light just continue straight. This road leads you right into the WDW main roads. Signs will be all over! To Epcot and Hollywood Studios from Grande Vista it takes about 10 minutes to parking lots. To Magic Kingdom, we would make it to TTC for ferry or monorail in about 15 to 20 minutes. Then you have to take into account whether monorail or ferry is there to take over to MK. This could take 10 to 30 minutes. Animal Kingdom would take us about 15 minutes to get to. Grande Vista is in great area. Enjoy!

Unless they're renting a car, taxi/cab is the only other way. Here is the Mear's taxi fare estimator --> http://www.mearstransportation.com/services/taxi-fare-estimator.asp ... although they don't have that specific resort listed, you can choose "Seaworld" as your starting point and pick one of the WDW parks as your end point to get a pretty good estimate of the cost.

Thanks. The cab fare is almost $25. I don't think we will see too much of them.

We just stayed there in March, and the cab ride to MK was more like $45 plus. Yikes. I did that twice, as we split up (one time I did the cab, then met DH at Epcot later; one time DH dropped me and our children off at MK and I took a cab back late at night). It was no where near $25. I think the ride back from MK was about $50 with tip.

If you want to go to Disney from Grande Vista, you really do need a car.

You say Grande Vista is near Sea World. Is it anywhere near the Lynx stop that many use to get from Disney to Sea World??

If so, then it is a simple $2.00 bus ride per person each way. Take Lynx #50 to DTD or TTC. It is located right at the Sea World parking lot. (I'm thinking the Renaissance is right across the street).
