How to get from Disney to the Oasis of the Seas (Port Everglades)?

So for our 10th anniversary, DH and I are taking the kids to Disney for a week in September, and then DH and I are going to leave directly from Orlando to go on a cruise (by ourselves!) on Oasis of the Seas. My parents are going with us to Disney, and they will fly back with the kids and watch them for the week while we are cruising. So, DH and I need to figure an economical way to get from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale. Anyone have any suggestions? Bus? Rent a Car? Fly? TIA for any input you have! --Katie

Hands down rent a car. It is the most cost effective and easy way. Many rental agencies have a free shuttle to Port Everglades. You can usually find a mid size car for under $50. Gas will be another $30.

The drive down is an easy 3 1/2 hour drive.
