How to get free upgrade....works for me

Darn! I have been sending my kids to the kids area to watch TV so they wouldn't get in the way!

If you purposely "used" your daughter for the planned purpose of a room upgrade, Sorry, but that is just wrong. [/QUOTE

Ah Ha Ha...really now, gimme a break - I have 7 yr old twin girls and if it means them getting to see the water pageant from their little beds at the Poly you bet your patootie I'll have them batting their baby blues at the CM

After all, that is the only way we got into the Princess Breakfast the last trip, we could not get PS so we showed up with our own 3yr old Snow White and Cinderella and my Little Cinderella just happen to ask at just the right moment "Mommy, does this mean I will never get to eat breakfast with Cinderella...ever?" ;) We were told to come back in 30 minutes for our PS. My daughters hugged that CM and nearly cried thanking him.

Did I use my kids...hell yeah..was worth it...you BET!

Or to the balloon guy and coloring book lady at BWV!

Me too Terry had I known it may have gotten me a better view, I'd have her right by my side. I'm going to try it next year even if she is 12 she's quite personable & has a killer smile!

That's if I can keep her out of the gift shop long enough to stand in line with me.

I hope this is one of those, I am not really serious posts.

If you truely do have an adorable daughter and because she was with you at checkin and you just happened to get an upgrade then I would say Congrats.

I know I'll get the standard "Give me a break" responses too but this was my immediate response when I read this as well. It's worse than women who use their bodies or flirting to get what they want or entering your kid into a beauty pageant.

It's one thing if you unintentionally got an upgrade because your kid was cute. It's another if you purposely use your child to get what you want.

Well not to put a damper on the cute kid thing here....but the last time we got a "freebie" upgrade, DH and I were checking in at the CR (our anniversary trip sans children) and the CM doing the check in offered us a 14th floor concierge room (complimentary) because (and I quote...so don't flame me) "it is a lot safer to upgrade couples than families with kids because you never know how well managed the kids will be on a lounge floor" I assured her DH would use his very best manners in the lounge and we both laughed.

So I guess it just depends on how "cute" the CM thinks your kid really is....and as we all know "cute" is absolutely in the eyes of the beholder!!!

you people crack me up.

yes...I USE my child every chance I get. That's what people who get things done do.

They take what ever tools they have, in this case it is my cute child, and press that advantage to gain something extra over those not willing or smart enough to use the advantage.

That's what life is folks.

This site in it's simplest form, is a way for us all to gain an advantage over those who go to disney with know research at all.

Dont complaign about the lady with the large chest using them to get something extra. She is just using what society has givenb her as an edge, and exploiting it.

Eat or be eaten....it's the circle of life.

We did just that and still got the upgrade from standard view to water view (and Epcot fireworks view, I might add) at the Yacht Club. We had 3 rooms booked, too and all of us received upgrades. I would like to think I was the cute one who got us all the upgrades. :flower3:

Wonder if it will work with a very cute 2 and a half year old in tow? My DH and I are taking our DD toddler in January for her first WDW visit and staying at the AKL for part of the time and Poly for the other half. I'll take an upgrade at the Poly any time.

Just a friendly reminder.....just like Christmas....
WDW really is all about the KIDS!:D

Us "bigger Kids" just don't look as cute as the little ones!;) :p

I see no harm doing this!
in fact, I'm :rotfl:

Have fun!

Tell me you are just kidding right!

This is not only insulting to the OP but to all of us who answered his thread. How in the world you can liken a hooker and a cute kid standing next to their parents at checkin is simply amazing.

It is a pitiful response to a very light thread. But hen you come along and call our children prostitutes:mad:  GOOD JOB LADY!

Yeah - the pageant comment is offputting to me.

My daughter was in one at 2 years old - no makeup, no updo hair...just her easter dress and natural curls.

She won two trophies and is now SO proud of those.

I said nothing about a hooker.

where did that come from.

I was refrencing when a good looking woman, shows some extra cleveage to say, get out of a ticket.

Use what ever tools you have.

In my case, it's a cute kid.

OH MY, this one has taken a nasty turn...
OK, I'll bite--
Brought my 9 year old DD to check in and got a concierge upgrade at WL. When I called my family, they thought I played the "wheelchair card" (DS,7 loves Disney and uses a wheelchair)--people give him free stuff all the time just because he's so cute. But, he was in the car with DH. DD was thrilled that she could claim to be the ticket to the upgrade!:D
PS if you think the wheelchair thing is in poor taste, you've never taken a spin with my DS;)

I probably shouldn't say anything, but I can understand why some people might be unintentionally offended by the original post. I was. I have never gotten an upgrade. I guess it's because my kids aren't cute enough or well-spoken enough to warrant a better room. I'm sure that's not what the OP was implying. That's just how it seemed to come across.

All good things!

BTW... When will they come out with an AKL Lobby Scratch-N-Sniff card?

I'll bite too. I've used my kids before both when they are acting precious and when they are having a meltdown too (although not at check in with meltdown LOL).

I don't see anything wrong with it :earsboy:

Oohh you just gave me an idea -- I'm bringing along my Victoria's Secret push -up bra.:p

You really shouldn't feel that way about your children:confused:
After all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Let's hope youy children never learn how you feel.
