When checking in, I bring my 3 year old daughter to meet the cast member checking me in.

My daughter is so cute, and she speaks very well....2 times now I have been upgraded without even asking.

At yacht club...we had a standard room, and cast member said to my daughter...."would you like to see fireworks from your room?"

we we upgraded to a water view with perfect view up epcot.

Cute sells.

My cute toddler is now 11, and although he is charming I doubt he would have the same effect on any CM as your 3 year old. Upgrades are great, but to give birth again, after 11 years, just to get one? Well, I'll pass;) !

I have a 3 yr old blonde Shirley Temple and I'm gonna use her as my secret weapon. LOL

Yes, this had definitely worked for me. I was checking in to CBR and all my son could talk about was how he wanted to play in the hammocks - the CM asked him if he wanted to see the hammocks from his room- he said yes. We got a preferred water view at Jamaica - it was wonderful!:sunny:

Gee.........I wonder what twins will get me?

I would bet the CMs try to upgrade everyone who comes to the desk cheerful, smiling and excited to be at Disney. After all, you make their job more pleasant, and that in turn must make them happy to please you. Kids are usually ecstatic to be at Disney, and the CMs respond to that!

We'll test that theory when we go in a few weeks... because I'll be bouncing up and down over being back at Disney. ;)

Why, of all the dirty, low-down tricks.....

Note to self: Get a 3-year-old...:p

I'm glad this works. I have a very adorable 2 and 6 year old. I may see what happens if I bring both of them with me to check-in. And to think I was going to leave their cute faces in the car with my DH.

I hope this is one of those, I am not really serious posts.

If you truely do have an adorable daughter and because she was with you at checkin and you just happened to get an upgrade then I would say Congrats.

If you purposely "used" your daughter for the planned purpose of a room upgrade, Sorry, but that is just wrong.

You're kidding, right?

Has to be. I have never seen such a thing posted on a "tip" list/board.

Are you for real? Do you really think this is exploitation?

lighten up! I would use my kids in a minute, the 10 year old can be pretty adorable when she tries. :smooth:

This post absolutely cracked me up, whether it's for real or not (I actually think it is for real)!!! I say GO FO IT!!!!

Don't be so uptight. I am not depending on my children to get an upgrade, but hey if it works, why not. And, yes, I am serious. After all isn't that what Disney is all about, to put a smile on people's (especially children's) faces.

Unfortunately for us, the last time we went (with my very adorable 18 month old and 3 year old boys) my youngest was cranky from too much time in airports, airplanes and rental cars. I think the CM wanted to get us away from the front desk as soon as possible! The service was efficient, and we were in our standard garden view room at the poly in a matter of minutes!

So if you try this tactic, make sure your kids are in good spirits!!

;)
