how to get dvc card with kids name on it

I think some of the confusion on this goes back to time of purchase, for some of us that have been members for a very long time. (we originally bought in 1995 at OKW, later sold and came back with BCV points). When we bought in, we were (verbally) told that the whole family were "members". I do remember this, and when my adult daughter (who live home with us) went to WDW without us last year, I thought she was eligible for the DVC discounts. (I think I believed she was eligible because she still lives home, I would not expect my adults sons who live on their own, to be eligible). At the very least, I would have expected my under 18 teens to be able to get DVC discounts.

I totally understand the name on the deed POV, I get it now. But some of us were led to believe otherwise at time of purchase, but the question never came up until our kids grew up, of course. (It was more of a sales pitch, you are ALL members! sort of thing, not a flat out, when your kids are older they can get discounts without you.)

I do agree that the verbiage, "Member family" is used a lot. I suppose it's rather like one talking about their home belonging to the entire family, as a child would say, "my house". But those kids' names are not on the deed.
