How to get a good rate on rental car?

We never use a rental car at Disney, but DH really wants one this time. But I checked a couple, and the rates were so high, and for an economy car at that! Where do I check for discounts, and what companies usually offer the best rates? This rental car business is all new to me.

Just keep checking back with all the companies. When you find what you think is a good rate, book it. Then keep checking. If you belong to any of the warehouse clubs (Costco, Sams), they have coupons with codes on them. Use them to lower the rates. Also, for Dollar, try the code KISS. Be patient and you should come up with a good rate.
