Ok. Maybe I have missed it, but how do you get on a cheap Disney cruise? I am sure there are times of the year (e.g., September) when they have lots of vacancy, but the rate I got from them is still $500 per night.

When/Where/How do I get a good deal of the cruise?

Thanks in advance!

not possible, maybe when the new ships come in, but not likely. They will be sending the smaller ships to CA with the new big ones come to FL. As it gets close to the curise date the cost go up. ONly cheap with they first announce them for the year.

You'd be wrong, btw. Disney cruises book almost completely full all year long - even in September. September prices will be among the lowest because its a less popular time to cruise, but Disney almost never puts their vacancies on "clearence" like some other lines. They'd rather sail 93% full for full price.

Best pricing happens when cruise dates are first released - about 18 months in advance. September and January tend to be good for lower prices. But as others have said, there is no "cheap" Disney cruise.

My friends have had great luck on Expedia, only when they first release the dates and depending on your party size and travel flexibilty. It gets more expensive as the time goes by so you will want to shoot for September and February because they seem to be a bit cheaper then the other months and book as soon as they release the dates. From what I am reading on cruise thread the 2010 dates will be released sometime in December 2008. Hope that helps but if you have more questions you should check out the Disney Cruiseline forum.

So can anyone tell apprx how much I would pay for a family of 4 2 adults and 2 children to go on a disney cruise maybe in June, July or August of next year? It doesn't have to be exact I just want to have an idea! I watched Disney on a dime today on the travel channel and they showed the cruise and now I really want to do this if not next summer then the summer after! just want ideas!

It really depends on the length of cruise, itinerary and the type of cabins that you book. The dates of the cruise can also have a big influence on the price, since July is prime vacation time but mid-August prices are low due to more active hurricanes and tropical storms during that time.

You can always go to Disney's website and play around with dates and cabin types to get quotes. It's pretty easy to do and costs you nothing but your time.

Summer months are the most expensive times to go ( with maybe the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). You won't find any "cheap rates" then. As someone mentioned, your best bet is January or September.

For the Eastern to St. Marteen in August for 7 days for 2 adults and 2 children in a cat 11 room was apprx $6100 on the cruise that sails the first of the month and $4200 for the cruise that sails on the 29th of the month.

Just check the website. It is easy to play with.

Before our Disney Cruise, we investigated all options (booked a January cruise in August, fyi). I looked at Expedia and all those other travel companies, the prices on Disney's website, and we also called Disney. Calling Disney and booking through the travel companies were the same exact price so booked straight through Disney. We also managed to book a "Secret Porthole" room and got a window with only a slightly blocked view for the Category 10 price.

You can get a decent price but probably not in the summer. I paid around $1700.00 for 2 adults, 1 child 1 infant for the upcoming 5 night cruise. I booked the day it opened so I got 1st tier pricing. Also the fact that it leaves September 1st helped the price too. Good Luck!:goodvibes

January is a pretty cheap time! We booked a 3 night for $670 out-the-door (2 adults). Now they have the fuel surcharge tho so it would be a bit more

OH! Thanks sounds good! I didn't even think of that! That's what I do before I plan a disney vaca!! :cool1:

OH! Wow maybe I will look into January then! Possibly September but September scares me with hurricanes!

Oh and try to snag a cat 12 if it's available. With 2 adults and 2 children you won't fit so they'll bump you up to an 11, from what i've heard

Unless you want an oceanview or something

A 7 day Western cruise on August 22nd next year will cost you $4190...not including transfers and trip insurance. This is for a family of four. If your kids are over 12 then it will be slightly higher.

We got the land and Sea package for about $3400. That includes 5 day hopper tickets and room in pirate section of Carribean Beach. This is for Dec 20th, 2009. We also got $125 in on board credit! Pretty good if you start substracting the tickets, rooms cost and then divide by 4 and you got price of cruise per person....found this quite cheap! It makes it about $850 person , minus $260 (hopper Tickets) = $560 per person, then minus the rooms which is probably be $750 moderate with tax and pirate room selection! Divide $750 by four = $187 each and subtract the $187 from $560 = $373 for three night cruise!!!!!

Awesome deal!!!!!
