I would like to find an inexpensive hotel in Boston for Friday night. Does anyone know a last minute type website that might list cheap rates? I looked on hotels.com but the best I could find was $150 for the night which is still a bit expensive for us. Any advice on what other websites to check would be great. I know its last minute but we need to be in Boston for Friday and again for Saturday and I thought it might be nice to stay in the city for the Friday night.

thanks, Jen.

This time last year we booked a steal of a deal on Expedia. It was for an entire weekend and included flights, so I don't know if you'll find the same good deals on a hotel only search. But it is worth checking out.
Ours was for the Radisson in the theatre district. Not an opulent hotel, but clean, quiet and the location was superb. I think when I broke it down the hotel ended up at 90 something a night. Again, that may have been because it was a package though.

Not sure where you want to stay, or what star level you are looking for, but at this late date, Priceline will probably be your best bet. Head over to Betterbidding.com and post for help with bidding. That being said, if you are driving, are you willing to pay the cost for parking associated with most of the downtown hotels?

A quick check with Expedia's "Unpublished Rates" finds a 4* in the Quincy Market/Financial District area for $114/nite. Again, not knowing which area you wish to stay in, and what star level you are looking at makes things a little difficult.

Edited to add: Did a quick check on Hotwire, and they have probably the same hotel as Expedia for $109/nite. Could be the Hilton or Omni or something similar. You could probably get a bid on Priceline accepted for $10-$20 less.

We used Hotwire last time we stayed in Boston and was very happy with the hotel we got (Intercontinental) for the price we paid. :thumbsup2

I just checked their website and for this Friday night you can get a 4 star for as low as $109.

Check post before yours.

Do you need to be in Boston proper for the night, or could you take the T out to the suburbs for a cheaper rate if available?

I don't think you are going to get anything decent for less than $100 a night. Then, don't forget to factor in parking.

I used Priceline las February for a Saturday night stay. I beleive I ended up paying $94-$100 for the Holiday Inn in the Financial District. I wasn't thrilled with the price, but the hotel was fine. Parking on the other hand was about $30-40 for the night. Of course after numerous drinks at Dick's Last Resort all the details of that night are very very fuzzy:rotfl:

Are you driving? If so, you can get rooms in Woburn or Danvers, etc., for under $60 a night using Travelocity top secret hotels or Priceline. It's about a 15-20 minute drive into the city.

Roomsavers.com has same day rates

and there is an app called Hotel Tonight

I use and love Priceline - but like PP said, go to betterbidding.com find out what the bids have been, what prices they've paid, and I only bid on 4* places (for Chicago) but its always been successful.
