How to do it all?

I think I will start dummy booking for an onsite stay at WDW and then, when the time comes, I will wait for a glitch to book a day or 2 at Universal.

Hi Juliette, I think once you have been to WDW, the following visits tend to be more chilled out as you will pick and choose your favourite things to do from last time and it will free up a bit more time for your Universal, Seaworld and shopping etc, I now like to try and find a good deal staying on site for all the perks inc free dining (when available), EMH, free parking at the parks and all the Disney transport when you want a break from the driving! Hope you find a good deal!

You are similar to me in that i know you had your first WDW holiday last year and would like to go back. We did Seaworld too but rest of the time just Disney staying at OKW with DDP. We hope to go to Disney again in 2015 and I personally feel that when staying on site and having 14 days worth of tickets it seems a crime to pay for loads more tickets and barely get to use them (I like to get my moneys worth!!) so . . . I have been thinking about maybe going next year to florida for 2 weeks either feb or april time but just doing the other parks eg Legoland, Busch, Seaworld, Universal. I have priced this up and we could do this relatively 'cheap' if we stay in a basic hotel etc. This way we can do all the other parks we want to, spend plenty of time at each one and then when we do WDW again, hopefully in 2015, we can spend most of our time enjoying the WDW parks at a leisurely rate. Don't get me wrong it would be hard to go next year and not take the girls to WDW but I view this as an 'extra' trip to see all the other things we would like to. To me it's just not financially viable to do WDW. Universal, Busch. Seaworld etc all in one trip, unless I was going for 4 weeks!!

I know exactly what you mean - the idea of spending £2000 + on tickets and then going for 1 or 2 days to some of the parks seems like such a waste of money. Perhaps I need to plan for 3 weeks instead of 2...

You really need to know dates, time of year, is free dining available, any hotel discounts etc.
Last year we paid £117/nt at OKW with free DDP, that works out a similar price to staying offsite in a £30/nt cheap hotel, paying for food and parking etc.
This year they have increased onsite too much for me so back to offsite. I don't make any choices til I see all offers available.

Wayne-we're paying £125 per night at pofq this August- what size room did you have at okw? Were you booked direct with wdw UK?

I booked with Complete Orlando, saved a little on Disney UK. This year it(OKW studio) had gone upto about £150 so we are staying offsite again, Offsite costs us about £100/nt for room & food.

thats why i accidently added the 3rd week !!! couldnt bare having 14 days disney tickets and not using all 14 days !!!! i had planned to do 1 week onsite then move but im not sure what the plan is anymore ???

Probably not, as it's the flights which is the main cost (at least for us with having to travel in the school holidays!).

For our August trip we considered cutting a week, going for 18 nights instead of our usual 25 but the cost is mainly in the flights.

I know we are offsite, you will have to try add up for onsite.
7 nights hotel will be around £250
7 nights car £100
7 nights food & tips £400

£750 plus another week with no wage.

The 18 nights will be around £4000 including flights so I decided it was worth the extra.

not sure yet i will let you know when we get back !!! flights were such a big expense for 5 of us and the 2 week and 3 week flight were the same price

i still think park tickets and extras are my main thing thats adding u the cost disney tix were £1200 !! ( i know u are 5 aswell joolz)

the accomodation cost from what i remember in my original pricing was not a lot extra for the 3rd week and obviously an extra week sending money

my justification was ok so its abit more expensive but "better value" we will be able to see more and do more in the parks and get full use out of all our tickets this way

5 of us too - and those Disney tickets are soooo expensive. Ideally, I would like 14 days at Disney and then some extra time to do Universal, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. Time to get the calculator out in April when Disney release their deals.
