Hi there,
I'm lucky enough to be returning to 'the World' from England this August. We have to travel then Due to my DWs work situation. Anyway, we absolutely loved the ability to try small portions of food at epcot F&W on our October trip. I loved the beer flights too. I know the food stalls may not be up in August, but is there a similar way to sample food and drink around the Showcase in Summer?

Thanks

Unfortunately not. The best you can do is share items from from the regular menu.

I haven't done this, but I have read there are wine tastings in some shops In France, Germany, Italy, and maybe some others. In Germany, I believe they offer a cheese plate as well. With every country having some sort of wine/beer/snack stand, I don't think you'd have much of a problem "cobbling" together a faux F&W, it just won't be "chef pairings".

Japan has a Sake bar at the back of the Mitsukoshi department store.

Also Italy has Tutto Gusto which serves small plates and wine flights.

Hope that helps.

The World Showcase is 11 countries so that limits you but you can do a snack from each country. I think each country has a wine and/or beer so you can do that as well. A fun thing to do while you are "indulging" is to stop at the Kidspots in each country and talk with the Cast Members there. You can even take a mask (I think those are still being done?) and have a Cast Member sign the mask as you go around the countries.

Another thing to do is to see the live performers in each country.

Thank you all for your responses - really appreciate your views. Sounds like there's a way to try a few things.

Is it easy to get snacks and move on or is it a sit down restaurant type affair? I've only ever visited Le Cellier before which was a formal sit down restaurant and then the food stations in F+W. Obviously the F+W kitchens were accessible and easy to wander on to the next one - hoping the showcases have similar 'quick options'. Like the sound of beer flights too - hopefully can try a few ales!

I think it is quite doable. All the countries have snack shops and serve alcohol. You may have to split a sandwich or pastry at some places but that isn't really any different than F&W. In fact, exploring to FIND those types of places, instead of having them placed right on the main drag, would probably be more fun! Find that sake place in Japan, go to the tequila bar in Mexico, talk to the ladies in the italian wine tasting shop, etc. Much more culturally interesting than whipping out the F&W card and getting handed a little plate and cup and shuffled on IMHO.

Oh yes indeed. We once did a "meal" where my son got the nachos in Mexico, I got the pot stickers in China, and then we all walked to America where my husband got a burger. We sat outside and enjoyed all together. But, my son could have eaten his nachos on the way to China, I could have eaten my pot stickers on the way to America and my husband could have eaten his burger if we wanted to move on.

Counter service meals are on trays but if you want to grab and go, just take the things off the tray, leave the tray on top of a trash can and you are fine.

Sounds, perfect. So I can do my own food and wine via counter service and have more fun into the bargain! Thanks everyone, really can't wait now ...
