Now taking ideas for pin display!!!

I am looking for a way to display my pins in my house. I am open to any ideas excluding a pin trading book or any article of clothing, both which I have seen and am not interested in.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

One of my best friends displays his pins on a cork board and they look really neat! You could even cover it with fabric if you don't like the cork board look.

Good luck!! :)

I keep mine in shadow boxes that I picked up from Michael's Craft Store. The front is hinged so it's easy to add/remove pins.

There is usually a 40% off coupon in the Sunday paper so it can be purchased for less than $20.00.

You can see them in the background of this photo:

Nice, John! :thumbsup2

I made a wall hanging for mine. I took about a 3' X 4' piece of black heavy cotton sailcloth kinda stuff, hemmed it, turned the top edge and sewed that, then put a dowel through it. My husband drilled a hole in each end and I got a cord to put through the holes to hang it by.

We picked up a shadow box for our pins too. I love that they are displayed now. We found it at Michael's Craft Stores for around $20. Once this one is full, we will just pick up another!

Great ideas everyone! We don't trade pins, but we usually purchase 20-30 that are significant to our trip. For now, they are on lanyards and laid out on the dresser. We've only been 3 times so far. I can see how in the future I'll need a better way to display them though. Thanks again for the ideas!

I have 5 boxes from Michael's with about 20 pins each. They are like the ones you put butterflies and things in. I put felt over the material the pin goes in. I have them all hanging here in the LR, which is more like an office.

I do not have a very large collection, so this works for me. So far...

This is one of my son's corkboards. He painted the outside and added stickers to it.

I also use the smaller cork boards for some of my favorite pins. I have one right here next to my monitor that has my pin collection from the Tapestry of Nations Parade

I use a cork board that I covered the edges with ribbon and then I put a thinner ribbon on top for accent.

Our last trip was our first time pin trading. Each child ended up with around 25 pins each. I got each an Artist Canvas. Each child painted it and then we stuck the pins through the canvas and attached the Mickey backs to the back of the canvas. They are hanging in their rooms now.

Cut the pin part off ( :duck: ), and glue a magnet to the back. Then use them as refrigerator magnets :). I've done that with a few of them, but I'm not a collector.

I haven't seen it, but one of my DIS friends mentioned recently that she had covered a lampshade in pins. I thought that was a neat idea.

Mary, I love this idea (and I'm gonna steal it!:goodvibes ) It would be a great way to display a few of my cherished series. Leave it to a Tennessean to come up with a great idea! (spoken as a former Tennessean.)

Another corkboard person here.

Some really cool pictures!
