How to cut packing down for a week trip!

hi y'all,
I'm going to be staying in BWV for week in a studio. I'm trying to cut down on packing as much as possible, possibly ONLY taking a bag that can fit under my seat. I've done it before but not for a vaca this long. Any tips for things to cut down on, etc? (Besides using the washers/dryers)

I went from 3 bags down to one carry on by leaving the wife home.

Wear your sneakers on the plane and pack a pair of flat flip flops or sandals. Also wear a light raincoat on the plane instead of bringing a poncho and sweatshirt. Roll all of your clothing instead of folding it. Use travel size toiletries and plan on using the hotel's shampoo, conditioner and soap. Pack only one bathing suit. Try to bring dresses made of that jersey material that doesn't wrinkle. They are very versatile. They can be worn as cover ups by the pool, for park days and for dinners out. Also bring a light canvas tote as your purse on the plane, or fold and pack one.

Go on Pinterest there are lot of pins with articles showing how to pack a weeks worth of clothes in one carry on suitcase.

Pack lightweight clothes that can be easily washed in the sink and be dry by the next morning. Hopefully you won't need to wash anything, but knowing it is possible keeps me from packing extras "just in case".

I'm committed to a carry-on rolling suitcase, plus an overnight bag and a backpack for myself and my toddler for our upcoming trip! It's a bit easier for us because we'll have a car, so I'll be buying bulky items in Orlando (diapers, wipes, etc.). I got packing cubes and I'll be doing laundry mid-week to save space! Also, limited pairs of shoes, no hair tools, etc. A detailed packing list is a must!

Use the Ziploc (or other brand) travel bags where you compress your clothing by putting them in the bag and rolling the air out. I can get so much more stuff in a suitcase by using those. I will mention that it will make your suitcase a lot heavier since you're able to get so much more stuff in it, but if it's not a checked bag, it's not really an issue (we drive, so it's no issue at all).

Don't pack as much. That's what I do and it works every time.

Don't bring extra shoes. I only bring the shoes that I wear on the airplane, and these are also the shoes that I will be wearing all around WDW. If you think you want to bring any sort of long-sleeved shirt with, wear it on the plane. It's usually cool enough on the plane where you need it anyway.

What I do is to make a list of everything that I think I will need, and then go back through my list and trim it down. More often than not, I can pare down what I am taking, or find items that have a dual use (like a charger for a phone and tablet.)

Having a teenager and soon to be tweenager does make traveling easier. No longer do we have to worry about taking a pack and play, stroller, etc....

Also remember most pants/shorts can be worn more than once. I probably wouldn't wear a shirt twice if I'm there during the hot season but I always wear my pants more than once. I tend to wear a lot of dresses and those can be rolled down to practically nothing.

I packed for 10 days to London in just a carry-on. I used those no-vacuum compression plastic bags and used an on-site laundry facility. I think BWV has 24 hour self-service laundry.

I'm bringing 9 days worth of stuff in just a carry on. What I'm doing:

1. Bringing all mix-and-match clothing items so I can reuse items
2. Bringing clothes that can be washed in the sink and dried overnight, plus a small packet of powder detergent
3. Cutting down on all the extra stuff - deodorant works just as well as anti-chafing sticks, limiting all toiletries to a single quart bag (including non-liquids), etc
4. Using packing cubes and packing techniques that maximize use of space
5. Wearing all the heaviest/largest items on the plane - sneakers, jeans, long sleeve shirt, etc

Choose a color them for mixing n matching top/shorts/skirt/Capri etc. roll, don't fold. Shoes on feet and 1 pair casual flat packed. It's so enjoyable once u get used to how easy it really is. Enjoy ur trip!

I was amazed how choosing a color for mixing and matching cut down on the amount of clothing I needed...excellent tip.

I've worn 2 bras, and 2 pairs of panties on the plane. I also wear a thin tee shirt under a short sleeved shirt with a sweater or sweatshirt on top on the plane. Mind you, we go to WDW in the winter. If you travel in the summer you might not want to dress so warmly. I also wear Tilly brand panties and socks. They are guaranteed to be dry by the morning if you rinse them out the night before. They are quite expensive, but I only wear them when traveling, so they have lasted me about 20 years, now. Colour co-ordinate what you are wearing and packing, so you can match yet each picture is different from previous ones. Also, pack with a mind of using each item in various ways. for example, a sweatshirt can be used in the evenings when it gets cool, and also as a beach cover up. If the jacket you bring is waterproof, you can use it when it is chilly or raining. Some long skirts can be worn for evening wear, or worn above the breast for a casual sundress.
