How to contact Disney about a Camper rental agency

I'm looking at renting the Doug.. how was it?
it was horrible. At first, we thought it was going to be ok. doing the walk around with them it looked fine but there were a couple issues we pointed out like damage and loose screws in doors. But there were major issues I didn't see at the time.

I noticed that where they water, and sewer hookups were i noticed water leaking. I pointed it out to one of the guys and he said oh that is normal, just pressure change, and it would stop. I was like whatever its your trailer. I have been in campers and motorhomes of various sizes and types for 30 years. I know how to do hookups and it didn't seem right. Well, over the next couple days i kept noticing the carpet in back along where the room slid out was getting wet. like wet from below so i knew there was a leak somewhere. By the time we left, the entire left side of the trailer had wet and squishy type floor all along from the back slide out right up the couch on the front slide. During the week i had crawled underneath the back end and see if there was anything leaking. I reached up and touched the underside of the camper and the covering material was soaking wet. It felt like i was pressing on a waterbed.

This was in January, and it was a bit unseasonably cool. We tried to turn on the heat the first night and it didn't seem like it would fire up. Being that it was already too late to call, we just went to bed and used extra blankets. The next day the owners showed up at the trailer unannounced. They wanted to fix a couple dented floor heat registers and something else. The guys the first day said they may come the next day, but we said they didn't bother us so don't worry and don't come as we would be out at the park and our dogs would be alone if they showed up. Fortunately, we were back on a break to let the dogs out when they showed up. I mentioned the wetness and she didn't seem to care. We told them about heat issue and the guy went and checked the propane and turns out the guys who did setup never turned on the tanks. I didn't even think to go check that the night before as i would have expected everything to be up and ready to go!

There were other issues with the camper like some blinds busted, missing screws in hinges, and was not as clean as i would have expected it to be. And the biggest kicker to all of this happened the first day as the guys were just about to leave: I asked where the keys were. They couldnt find them! i helped them search every cabinet and drawer and there were no keys. They then found an extra key in truck that was from another trailer but worked in ours as it was same manufacturer, but we were unable to use the deadbolt. So they were about to leave and not give us a way to lock the unit and protect our dogs!

I tried to communicate with them after we left. I sent a long letter explaining the above issues and more that i am not recalling now as its been a while. They never responded at all. That was the worst part for me. They didn't seem to give a crap. I was just back down there in September, and we found a rental via RVShare. it's kind of like Airbnb for campers. It was just a family guy renting out their camper. He was wonderful. We were experiencing some heavy rain (before Ian was around) and i noticed a leak in the front part of 5th wheel as i was on the bed. We sent a message to let him know. He said he was just getting off work and would head over and look at it. He lives an hour away! He found something like a branch or similar must have come down and hit roof as there was a small hole. He patched up the roof (in the pouring rain) and gave a couple more towels to replace the ones we used to dry up. There was also an article of clothing in the cabinet that got wet and kind of stained as the water was running through the wood and was kind of brown. He offered to pay to replace! We told him don't worry about it, and after a wash it was all good.
As a side note on the rental companies: Disney does care who is coming in. We were there over the water outage that happened mid-September. When they brought in a water tank truck to fill people, the second in command at the Fort was going around to sites with them. I was talking with him while waiting our turn. I said we had no choice but to stay on that site versus move to one with water as we were a rental. He asked who we rented from, and I explained the RVShare. He said that they are trying to find out who all the rental companies are so they can keep tabs on who is coming in, what insurance they have etc. I mentioned to him briefly how bad CRA was for us in January. He said that is why they are trying to learn about everyone.

Hope this helps. If you would like more info on the guy we had last month, send me a message.

Thanks for the heads up on the Doug! Glad I didn't book it. I am finding more and more bad stories.
Was the RVShare pet friendly?
