How to confirm if renting?

I just got my confirmation letter from the wonderful DVC member I rented points from... Question is, how do I confirm my reservation? Can I call about the reservation even if I'm not the DVC member who made it? Sorry if this is a confusing question, but I'd appreciate any help!
 
Yes, you can call the resort directly. The only thing is be sure to tell them it is with DVC points. I have heard of people not able to confirm and than the reservation is found once they hear it is DVC.

When I confirmed my ressie, I just called the Disney reservations number and told them I need MS phone number to confirm my ressie. They gave it to me. That was before I received the hard copy of the confirmation from the DVC owner. Is MS phone number on the confirmation???

Be sure to tell them you are just confirming the reservation. They will do this gladly.
 
Non Members are supposed to call 1- 407-566-3800. M-F 9AM - 5:30 PM. Thursday until 7 PM EST. Tell them you are a guest and give them the confirmation number. Thats all there is to it.

I'm curious - why do you feel the need to call to confirm? You have a written confirmation.

If it's a matter of trust, you must realize that the DVC member can cancel the reservation at any time. You're not planning to call every day to check on it are you??? (Just kidding - I'm sure you are not). I'm just trying to point out that calling to confirm is really just a waste of time and effort.
 
I am also renting points for this coming December. I got my confirmation letter already from the DVC member. I wanted to call the resort ( BWV ) to confirm the ressie. I explained that I am renting points from a member and they told me that they can't check on it from the resort. They eventually directed me to the member services number, where I explained that I am renting the points from another member.
They were able to confirm my reservation, and also take down any of my request.

SIDE NOTE: Although my questions were answered OK, the guy on the phone seemed to be in a nasty mood.
