I booked a bestrate for Jan 3, how do I find out if the rate is lowered? Will I be notified, or do I have to check on my own?

You have to check on your own. Go to the Disney website and look for "My Vacation". Click on it and sign in to the site. Go to "my itineraries" even if you haven't done one, your ressie will come up under there.

But, Disney WILL lower the rate automatically, right? You're just saying that Disney is not going to be notifying people about the change. Please correct me if I am wrong in my understanding.

hello, this is sid from the DRC. for the passholder "Best Rate Program," when you book that package, it's already discounted. now, if you booked a standard CRO room-only, and would like to get the "Best Rate" on it, you need to cancel that exhisting CRO room-only, and rebook it as the "Best Rate." i hope that answered your question.

Disney will lower it automatically if a lower rate comes out, which is highly doubtful at this time. However, no one knows for sure if we will be notified or not as it hasn't happened yet. My guess is no.

Thanks for the replies!
We'd booked a trip from Dec 25 to Jan 3 at CSR using best rate, and were ecstatic about the price (being holiday season and all).

We were able to extend the vacation, so we booked another room Jan 3 - Jan 8 at CB, thinking it would be cheaper (since value season starts Jan 1), but it's the same price (even a hair more expensive).

We thought maybe the price would drop as it approached, so we'll keep watching. I guess we shouldn't expect much though.

Could you tell me the rate you have for the 3-8? That is the timeframe we are looking at too. Thanks!!

So let's say that a better rate to the "general public" came out and WDW lowers your rate on the BR plan-how would they refund the difference to you? Right now you can't even prepay or paydown on your reservation until you check in.

Sid will comment if I am wrong, but I have been told several times by friends at the DRC, that what you book is what you will get. So please make sure you are comfortable with the offer.

That lower rates will not be offered.
