We have a 5pm ressie at HDDR in April. There is a Spectro parade that night, so we thought we would like to leave for HDDR from MK and then return to MK after dinner to see Spectro.

I thought I had read somewhere that you can get a boat from MK to go to HDDR :confused3
Is this correct? If so, does the boat leave you off nearby the HDDR? or would it be a long walk?

Also, if we can do the boat, does it run fairly frequently? As I mentioned, our ressie is for the 5pm dinner show, just wondering what time we would need to get the boat?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I'm into my obsessive planning mode :surfweb:

TIA,

Karen :)

The only option when going from the Magic Kingdom - Fort Wildenress is a boat and I believe it also shares service with the Wilderness Lodge.

That boat does not share with Wilderness Lodge. I would be at the boat dock by 4:00pm. It is a short walk from the marina to the Hoop De Doo.

Thanks so much, that was going to be my next question.
I loved hearing that it is a short walk to the HDDR.

This sound perfect then. :thumbsup2

The last time we went to Fort Wilderness the boat did stop at the Wilderness Lodge both ways.

They may have changed this, but I can't imagine Disney running a separate boat since they are pretty close together.

They do run separate boats now. One MK - WL and one MK - FW!

Thanks, also learned that the boat also runs from/to CR to FW.

The smaller boats make the CR/FW/WL resort circle (not to the MK). These boats have blue flags on them.

The larger boat goes from either WL or FW to MK but not both. These have a green flag!

From FW to MK it is the green flag larger cruiser. There are two of them. They are both accessible.

From WL to MK, there is one green flag larger cruiser and one smaller green flag launch. The large cruiser is accessible, the small launch is not. (There is also accessible bus service from WL directly to MK).

There are two smaller blue flag launches that go FW/WL/CR in the morning, then swap to go FW/CR/WL in the afternoon and evening.

Lots of great/helpful info here...now, can anyone tell me how often the boat runs from CR to FW?

We will be getting the boat at the CR and have a 5pm HDDR dinner ressie.
Not sure how often the boats run, wouldn't want to miss the boat that we neeed to get to get us there in time.

Once again, thanks for all the helpful info :flower3:

It runs from 6:45 AM - 11:30 PM.

The boats run in continual loops, the time in between boats will vary depending on load/unload times at the docks, as well as "dodging" the small water mice. The FW>CR>WL>FW boat runs counter clockwise after 3pm, meaning if you leave from CR you will stop at WL first, the trip(once on board) will take about 20 min. If you are at MK, taking the boat from MK to FW would be faster than going over to CR and catching the boat from there.

See red above - incorrect info -

2 motor cruisers run the MK>FWC>MK route (Green Flag) - not a cruiser and a launch.

On the Red flag route - WL>MK>WL - 1 cruiser and 1 launch.

Boats run at 15-20 minute intervals on the average - miss one and you'll have to allow time to wait for the next.
