How to calculate your 180 window?

Many of you may chuckle at the fact that while we are WDW veterans, we have never called to make ressies of any sort at 180 days. However, we are considering being there for NYE this year, and figure if we want to eat anywhere but our room we'd best get a ressie!

How do I figure out my 180 day window? Do I literally count backwards from the ressie date by 180 days? Or is it 6 months to the day? There must be a calculator on this site somewhere!?!

Then that 180+10 rule will also come into play. Which means what? That I can call 180 days (or is it six months?) from my check in date and make any and all ADRs for our stay?

Yes, its 180 days from check-in and you can make reservation for your entire stay (up to 10 days I guess? Never stayed longer than that, so I'm not too sure about it.)
