I'm a numbers girl but I cannot figure this one out for the life of me! I'm traveling extremely light (no checked bags) so I want to mail some water down for my trip next week. It's just DD(9) and myself for 4 full days. I'd rather run out then be left w/ a bunch extra.

I'm sure it's going to be hot and I normally drink a lot of soda every day (ok, like a 12pack every day  ) but I won't drink as much water since I don't like it. I'm trying to be healthier though so water it is! ;)

Anyone want to take a stab at helping me figure it out? :goodvibes

TIA!!! :worship:

It would depend if you are on the DDP, then a drink comes with your meals. If not, are you wanting to drink you bottled water instead of ordering a drink with your CS?

That would make it more or less.

If you do not want left-overs, I would say count on 6 per day per person. You will be drinking whatever comes with your meals.;)

When we first went to WDW - June 2002, we over did it on water bottles.
We bought everyone a one water bottle for each day. We ended up leaving a case of water bottles in our room.

Our lesson - for 2 parents and 2 teens - two bottle of water a day - we carry them. Each teen carries a water mister fan (WDW sells them - cute, but more expensive than a discount store).

If you are on the dining plan - your snack could be a water bottle - then you do not need to buy them.
Or buy 8 water bottles maximun for 4 days and use the snack credits for fruit, popcorn or ice cream.

Since it is just you an a 9 yr old. I would do 4 water bottles (you carry it) and get a water mister fan for the 9 year old.

We (5 of us) are going in June for 10 nights. I am calculating everybody takes one when we leave for the park in the morning & when we go back in the afternoon/night time. That could be 5 or 10 per day x 11 days. I'm thinking 3 cases (24 per case). Since we're on the dining plan, we'll have drinks with lunches & dinners and since it's June, we'll probably even buy extra water during the day at the parks.

I just don't want to be loaded down when we leave the hotel everyday with all these extra water bottles that nobody is gonna want to carry. We have 3 of the straps now & will be buying 2 more once we're there, so we can just "sling" them over our body or shoulder. Should work okay, I hope!!!

You can get a free cup of water any time you want at any stand that has a drink fountain. We have walked into many CS restaurants and asked for just a glass of water and have never been turned away. It saves buying and wasting lots of extra bottles. We usually bring one bottle with us per day and get an extra cup of water whenever we get one. We drink the first cup, and pour the 2nd into the bottle to save for later - the bottle is easier to carry. When that is empty, we head back to repeat. We have found the water from the drink fountains doesn't taste as bad as the water from the actual water fountains.

Thanks for all the good tips! :goodvibes I was talking to DH last night and the fact that I'd be the one hauling the water around did come up! LOL I'm thinking 4 bottles is the max I can comfortably carry in my bag so I'm going to send a case of water down and see how that goes. I don't drink tap water but my DD doesn't care where the water comes from so refilling her bottles would work.

we brought one bottle for each person and then bought a 2 1/2 gallon jug from the supermarket and filled them back up each night and put them in the fridge to cool. Much cheaper, and if you don't use all the water much less guilt about throwing it away.

For us, it's one bottle per person for each day. We freeze the bottles of water and they last until lunchtime. We usually don't go back to our hotel; even if we do go back, we don't bring bottles of water with us at night.

we bought water bottles and filled them at water fountains around DW. We bought one for each person last year.

Just wanted to suggest that you have a case of water DELIVERED to the hotel (care of you) instead of mailing it down...WAYYY cheaper. You can get a case of water for $7 (shipped) from Costco (you don't have to be a member).

We have ordered water but we liked the free cup of ice water available at all food service counters that serve beverages. We brought single serve mixers...much more convenient than the bottles...just a thought:)
