How to buy DDP?

Hello all,

I apologize if this has been asked, but I did a search and found nothing.

Anyway...How/where do you buy DDP? I am aware of what it is and how to use it but cant find anywhere that sells it on its own.

You see I have been visiting WDW/Florida with my wife and kids for the past 5 years now and more recently my mother (Grandma) has been joining us. Seeing as we have 2 weeks a year we tend to stay off site, most of the time in a villa, as we spend a min of 7 days in Disney and the rest we visit other things Florida has to offer (although to be honest most the time is within one of the parks!).

So the DDP tickets... Over here in the UK, you can only get DDP tickets if you book your whole holiday through a travel agent (flight, accomm, park tickets etc). seeing as we dont is there anyway of getting DDP on its own?

As I said above we were looking at getting 7 days as we know we will be spending this time in the parks and the DDP will solve the problem of 'having enough cash for food etc' (and its pre-paid so great for budgeting!)

You can only purchase a dining plan if you are staying at a Disney resort.

Sorry, the previous poster is correct - the dining plans are available only to guests staying at Disney-operated resorts.

Even if you are staying onsite you can't get a dining plan on its own, it must be part of a package reservation including park tickets.

The only exceptions to that are annual passholders (who can get a package without tickets), those eligible for the military room discount (who can also get a package without tickets so they may take advantage of military ticket discounts) and DVC members booking through Member Services (who don't need a package or tickets at all).

No harm in asking though is it?

Oh well next time we'll have to book to stay on-site.....
