How to Break Away from the SAME Resort for EVERY trip????

Make some paper and draw from Mickeys Magical Hat. They will say: Change resorts every 2-3 days. Find the lowest point stays at beginning of trip. Stay in most point rooms mid trip. Add a few and hold yourself to this challenge!

I have been to WDW 15 since I was a little girl and stayed at many resorts over those years. I am now 21 and going to be turning 22 and will be 22 when I will be taking my 16th trip to WDW in May. Of course in the early years I didn't make the decisions of which resort to stay at, but I find it now that staying at different resorts gives me more of a feel of all that has gone into what makes WDW and there is certainly a lot that makes WDW a very special place. For me in choosing a resort of course the value comes into play as I am just a college student right now. I am always travelling with either my Mom or a friend so that really helps with the expense. That aside, what I usually do is look at as many videos of the resorts I am interesting in staying. I will also use resources such as forums as these to asks what others have liked or disliked about resorts they have stayed on the WDW property. Another thing to take into consideration is each person or family is different. They could be travelling with a small child or someone elderly. It can make a huge difference in the choice of the resort that you want to stay at. They main thing is to do some research before your vacation just to keep your options open. You never know you may fall in love with a new resort you next trip.

I've never stayed at the same resort twice (see my signature) we love trying all the different places. Found we were pleasantly surprised (AOA cars suite) and bummed out (POLY suite) loved the SSTHV (transport was not great but had a car), Loved BC (got a surprise upgrade to lake view/balcony) stayed at POP (ok for short trip) but I love trying new things, so we're at OKW on our next trip. Have fun choosing

I personally don't like doing the same thing over and over again. I need change in my life. So I have always switched it up (Except for my first two onsite stays and my XH insisted we repeat CBR even though I really wanted to try a new place).

The last few trips we've done BC, Poly, BWV and POFQ. Now on my next trip I really want to stay in the Epcot area. It is my favorite part of Disney (even though my favorite park is MK) I just love the Epcot resort area with BC being my favorite resort on Disney property. So that leaves me with BC/YC/BW. (not interested in Swan and Dolphin just yet). I can keep flip flopping back and forth between the resorts but I want to try new things. I'm not the BIGGEST fan of split stays but we've done them and enjoyed them so I'm open to them in the future. Since we only go every 2-3 years I don't think I'd really mind flipping between the Epcot resorts since we aren't there multiple times a year repeating the same thing. It's long enough that it would be a change and feel like something completely new.

I see no issues with anyone booking the same resort year and after year. Disney isn't a cheap trip. Do what makes you happy!

I totally agree with you. We have tried several resorts and then my DH stayed at BWV and I can't keep him out of that resort!

I did finally get a good deal on BCV, so we are splitting BCV and Coronado.

If you are open to doing a split stay, we have found that's a great way to try a new resort with a lot less angst. We have tried staying at the new resort for 2-3 days (you can adjust the number of days depending on your overall stay). We've found for us it works best to do the new resort in the beginning. That way we try the new and if it isn't to our liking, we have the comfort of returning to our "home" and ending where we know we will be happy. One of the times we ended with the new one, it wasn't the best experience so now we only do them on the front end.
That is how we went from Value to Deluxe. The split stay showed us that we belong at a Deluxe resort.

Our ultimate split stay would be Polynesian/Beach Club...best of both worlds.

I am with the split stay crowd. We did a split stay for our trip last year. We fell in love with the Boardwalk. I would definitely try a new resort on the front end so that we could return “home” at the end.

Well, you have excellent taste! BWI is our absolute favorite, as well. We have stayed there more than any other place and will continue to book here the most. We are living dangerously next trip and trying out Pop Century. We know the experience will be very different, but decided that it was the perfect time to try out a Value, due to the Skyliner access. I also want to try out more resorts. I've stayed at almost all of the deluxe resorts if you count my childhood trips. It's time to explore Moderates and Values.

We are now stuck on the Yacht Club. I have stayed at Value, Moderates and Deluxe over the years. We stayed at the Yacht Club for the first time in 2018, again in November, 2019 and I just made reservations for this November. It is just perfect for us. The atmosphere, location, rooms, etc.

I could change it, but I just don’t want to!

I love staying at different resorts because it keeps every vacation feeling new and fresh. I visit WDW once (sometimes more) per year. If you don't feel like you're looking for something different, no reason to abandon the Boardwalk if you love it! However, you might be surprised if you try other resorts. So many have so much to offer!
