The plan is to go to Aulani for 10 nights next March 11-21. First 3 nights will be my family staying in a studio the next 7 nights will be with friends who will be joining us and we'll switch to a 2 bedroom.

We would like to book an ocean view studio for the first three nights, then a 2-bedroom Island view lock off for the remainder, that works well with the points we have in hand.

I'm thinking on August 11 I go online and book the first three nights. Then on August 14 I book the 2bedroom for remaining 7. Do I link the two together or does that matter since we are changing categories completely? Or should I try some form of walking to ensure I get the reservation?

I've checked March availability in the past and it doesn't seem to be taken up too quickly at the 7 month mark.

Yes, this would be correct.

You can't link the reservations since they are different booking categories. No need to do so, anyway.

Can't help with the walking question. No experience booking Aulani. Good luck!

My experience with this March also was that it did not book up quickly.
