In July 2020 we would like to try a split stay to get a chance to try new resorts. What is the best way to do this? Should I split my intended 10 day vacation in half and at the 11 month mark book two separate back to back 5 day reservations at my home resort or book one 10 day reservation? At the seven month mark, when I go to change 5 days of the reservation to another resort, does it make it smoother if I had two separate bookings already?
My concern is if I end up on a waitlist for half of the trip. If I have a reservation at a resort for 10 days, and waitlist another resort at the 7 month mark for the first 5 days of the 10 already reserved, does it cancel my entire 10 days if it comes through, or does it know to replace just the ones I that overlap? This is why I am thinking of making two reservations back to back, so it doesn't kick me out of anything. Any advice?
