How to avoid counter at Dollar?

Hi all

Have a car rental in 2 weeks from Dollar. I would like to avoid going to the counter if possible. Is there any way to do that at MCO?

Dollar Express, maybe? Check the website. Some companies do still require counter check in the first time renters use their club, membership, etc.

I'm a Dollar Express member and I've been going straight to the garage for the last number of trips. I usually have the keys in hand before wifey gets the luggage.

Yes, if you sign up for Dollar Express everything is in the system and you just go straight to the garage and look for your name on the board for which car is saved for you. They can even add a second driver in the garage. Very easy - just rented two weeks ago and we were in and out of the garage in about 10 minutes.

Since I already have a reservation, if I sign up for Express now, will it automatically link up or do I need to do something else? Thanks

KAYTIEELDR--while I appreciate you telling me to check the website, sometimes it's helpful to get firsthand experiences with people who have gone through the process personally. I assumed that was the purpose of asking questions on the boards?!

I believe I already had a ressie when I joined Express and I called their 800 number and had it applied to my Express account that first time. It was either Dollar or one of the other companies I have memberships with, but I'm confident they all pretty much work the same. Give them a call.

If you already have a reservation you can sign up for Dollar Express - it can take 3 days to get your membership number if you don't get it you can call and they should be able to give it to you. Then once you have it call and have your reservation linked to the Dollar Express number - it will not link automatically. I've rented from Dollar using express twice since May and both times it was really easy. The first time they didn't have my name on the board but I had my Dollar Express number confirmation with me and they were able to pull up my reservation and I was on my way in about 10 minutes. There is a booth in the garage and a person so if you have questions or need help they are there and available. Have a good trip.

When I used Thrifty, which is Dollar also, I was given an additional discount for the membership. I would join and recheck your rates. Keep rechecking because mine were going down until three weeks out. I think I was emailed my membership number as soon as I joined, or I called and they gave me it to me. Bu, that was their other company Thrifty.
If I wasn't happy with the car sitting waiting for me all I had to do was let the attendant know, but never had an issue.
