How to ask to Prom at WDW?

My DD18 and her BF are going with us to WDW this week. He goes to another school, but she would like to ask him to her school's prom while they're at Disney. Does anyone have ideas? She thought of getting a character to help, but we're not sure. Thank you!

Yes these days asking someone to prom is expected to be similar to a wedding proposal. Romantic and well thought out. Seems ridiculous to me but that is now what's expected. Maybe she could just ask during wishes or something?

This is totally ripping off an idea I saw from a marriage proposal but she could ride behind him on splash mountain and hold up a sign that says, "prom?" As the camera takes their photo.

Order a pizza and ask them to spell out "prom?" In pepperoni.

Gaston might be a fun character to get involved. She could slip his helper a note explaining that SHE is gong to ask her boyfriend to prom and asking if he could bring up prom. She could even ask Gaston to ask HER to prom and she could turn down gaston, saying she was going to ask the boyfriend. We all know how Gaston takes rejection. Haha.

Actually, I was at a game at ESPN WWoS last week and some guy asked a girl to the prom with the whole stadium watching on the scoreboard. (She said yes, but it wasn't especially convincing)

Anyway, I would think it would be tough to get a character involved, seeing the lines for characters these days. I guess one of you could approach one of the character's helpers while waiting to see if anything could be done, but I think you'd be better off with the direct approach.

My friend asked his GF to marry him a couple of years ago at MK. I thought his idea was great: he got one of the caricature artists on Main Street to draw both of them & write the proposal on the portrait. Talk about a surprise proposal! I know I never would've expected that in MK! And the artist was really cooperative. I believe you can get a full face drawing for around 35 & for a few dollars more, a full body one. Profiles are $18 & they also do silhouettes for $8 w/frames for separate purchase in the same amount.

I figured I'd share that story & info w/you b/c it would be a cute way to ask someone to the prom if you're a little shy or want a creative way to do it w/out breaking the bank.

I'm not sure if there are caricature artists at the other three parks or DTD; I've never really paid attention.

Like the poster above said, if they are boyfriend and girlfriend I would have thought they'd already talked about this and didn't need a 'big invite'.

Why all the pressure to make this like a marriage proposal? Everyone complains that kids grow up too fast; stop helping them, stop planning adult-like things for a kid-type event. Maybe they'd stop growing up so quickly if we stopped pushing them to do it! Honestly, what's left for them when they ARE adults if we encourage all this kind of stuff now? Besides, isn't it already assumed that a boyfriend and girlfriend will go to the prom together?

It isn't a big deal everywhere, thank goodness.

If this kid is going on vacation with his girlfriend's family, odds are pretty good they're going to prom together.

He does know they're going to prom together, but DD is the creative type and likes planning fun things, so she thought it would be neat to somehow bring Disney into it. Yes, I do admit things get way too crazy way too early, but senior prom is a big deal here in the South. She's not really wanting to do anything way over the top, just something fun and cute.
