I am hoping to get a 4pm flight out of MCO on Sat. Jan 7. Therefore, DME will probably pick us up at POP around 1 p.m. I would like to ask for a late check-out but not sure on procedure?
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Usually from my experience, they ask you to call mousekeeping the day before your depature date and ask for a late checkout! It always worked for me. The lastest is 1pm for checkout. :flower:

I just called that morning to ask if we could checkout an hour later (we left at noon instead of 11).

We just called the front desk the day before. One does seem to be the latest checkout and they will need to check to be sure not too many others are requesting late check out also so mousekeeping can get the rooms ready for incoming guests. Have a great trip!

We have tried a couple of times and were told we couldn't check out late because of the number of rooms they had to get ready for the incoming guests. With the resorts being busier, it may be more difficult to keep your room later.

We called at about 7:30 am the morning of our departure. We were told we could stay until 1 pm - they told us that's the latest they let you stay without charging you.

Late check-outs can be tricky. We requested and got one at OKW several years back, but I believe they (OKW) no longer offer them. Not sure about that, though. Other resorts may still offer them; we received them in the past at the CR and Poly. I do know that not everyone vacates their room on time (without prior notification), which creates problems for mousekeeping.

We always asked at the front desk. We have gotten it sometimes, others not and yes, always 1pm was the latest. One time we even asked when we checked in and got it then (we always go in value season). Just remember that it is not guaranteed.

:sunny: There is always are way. :flower: We are taking an extremely late flight out, and want to enjoy the pool / resort that last day so am taking the expensive (but sure thing) paying the extra day. ;) Instead of worrying will we get it / won't we? what will we do for so many hours? I hate flying sweaty etc.. . We can actually have almost a whole day at disney then shower and fly home. I got the idea a few years ago when researching wdw cruises and they all take "day rooms" at resorts on excursions for the convience, and I thought good idea, same price? (expensive). But it will be our last vacation this year till next summer? :confused3 Unless I get a surprise I don't know about.

LOL..a sure fire way...

10am on day of departure: "Hello, front desk?, I'm afraid I'm having a problem. Yes well thank you for the concern. I seem to be having a gastro-intestinal problem from the character breakfast buffet this morning an I'm afraid I'll need to "hover" around the room for a while". "why thanks for the understanding, I'm sure it'll be cleared up by then or whenever the Pepto kicks in."

Just call the front desk the day before and request late checkout and usually there is no problem. I've always asked for late checkout and have always gotten it.

I was wondering if you could do this. Our flight time has changed and is not leaving MCO until 8:15pm. I have four children and hate to be dirty and sweaty on the way home. How did you go about checking out when it was time to leave?

I just have the ressie through that day. BUT when it gets toward the time to leave, if the Poly is busy = I call the front desk and ask to get my bill ready for check out we will be leaving soon, tonight and coming over to check out. OR if its in a quietier period, I just go to the front desk and tell them I need to check out, they pull out the bill and run you a current copy and you check it and your on your way. No one ever said anything to us about doing this. We have done it on the last 2 trips and are doing it this next trip too. Our flight is also after 8pm that nite. It is sooooo convient to have the room all day and not worry about late check outs or luggage storage, or getting out of the room by 11am and staying "clean" till your home. I totally feel this has been worth it for us. We make sure we use the resort that day, and take full advantage of it.
