How the Poly changed this wdw commando

Ok its been awhile since my trip.. Sept in fact but honestly..I was depressed after coming back! I didnt want to leave! The day we were leaving my DH had to comfort me and in doing so forgot his phone charger b/c he was just worried about getting me out of our room!

Let me tell you a little about us:

Me-Tasha 36- 12+trips and a completely obsessive WDW planner and food porn addict. Ive loved the Poly since I was a little girl and dreamed of staying there, my father use to take us there for dinner on our family vacations.

DH-Tommy-34-swears he is a decade younger than me. His idol must be Jim Carey b/c he is always trying to be funny!! He fell in love with WDW on our honeymoon so Ive happily made another WDW monster!

We originally booked CSR when we booked a bounceback in 2009 but as the trip got closer we changed it to the Poly when we found a 40% off room only code, then about 3 months out upgraded to CL!

Ive always been a commando, up early and at the parks and we are there all day and its go, go, go! DH asked that since we booked Poly we spend some down time there and relax more, I agreed but secretly planned on still being at the parks more..

We normally drive up the day before we check into our WDW resort and stay at a DTD resort and shop which this time we picked BW DTD.

We left at 5am the morning we were to arrive at BW DTD and arrived at Prime Outlets at around noon to do my birthday shopping. After three hours we left for BW where we were suprised at how nice this hotel was for the $59 rate I found on mouse savers. We had a disney view which was of Epcot. After checking the room out we jumped back in the car and drove across the street to DTD where we hit WOD store first like we always do.

After that we had dinner at Trex which is another tradition. I had the tribal tacos with the grilled mahi mahi and DH had the chicken fried steak alas I forgot to take pics I was so hungry! Of course I had to have my cotontini as well and we left there very stuffed. DH still insisted on sharing a banana split from ghiradelli a bit later.

Then we headed back to BW for a shower and opened a bottle of champagne to watch Illuminations from our Balcony..What a perfect start to our vacation which by the way was our 2nd anniversary.

Next day is our check in day at the Poly!!

We woke up at 630 and got dressed and packed and headed to the Polynesian Resort. I could barely contain my excitement, our dream of staying at the Poly was finally here!

After passing though the gate and presenting our CL paper to the kiosk to unload our luggage, and being presented with leis, the front desk manager met with us and walked us to the Hawaii LH telling us the history of the resort. Check in was a breeze and we proceeded to the CL to have breakfast. We had yogurt, fruit, coffee and a pastry. We were impressed with the lounge the view was amazing!

After breakfast we walked to the TTC to catch the monorail to EP where we rode Soarin, Mission Space and Test Track and stopped to take a picture on the way to the WS.

We had 1130 ressie at Via Napoli. DH had pizza and I had the chicken parm. We shared both and thought both were just ok. AFterwards we both got the ugly but good cookie dessert.

After lunch we headed to Japan

My DH wanted to do the pick a pearl to get me earrings, the year before he had picked out a white 7 mm pearl I had made into a necklace and I wear almost daily.

He ended up picking a 8mm gold pearl and a small white pearl, the CM told us we could trade the smaller white pearl for another 8mm gold pearl at no extra charge since we wanted to make earrings. They turned out gorgeous..Sorry I didnt take a pic.

After doing a few other countries we went back to the Poly to check out our room, call bell services to bring our luggage relax and enjoy the CL offerings.

My plan was to go swimming and unpack but we ended up going to bed early since we were exhausted, dreaming of our day at the MK the next day!



Up next our first MK day, dinner at Tonys swimming through Tommorow Land.

The next morning I woke up at 7am ready for our Magic Kingdom day, not wanting to wake up DH I went down to the CL to get us coffee that I brought back up to the room, this became a morning ritual. Tommy isnt functioning without his coffee.
Once Tommy got up and dressed we had breakfast in the CL and headed to the GCH to catch the monorail to MK. We couldnt get over how fast we got there compared to the bus!

Of course we rode POTC first, its always the first thing we do in the MK, up next is HM, and many more.

Lunch was at Pecs Bills, unfortunately I was so hungry I forgot to take pics, sorry.. We rode a few more rides and did some shopping and decided to head back to the Poly and swim for awhile and hit the CL for a snack before heading back to the MK for our Tonys ADR.

Upon arriving back at the room we found these two beauties

After swimming, and relaxing by the pool with some of the awesome juice and rum (bottle we brought) in our tiki head cups we brought with us from home, we had some snacks in the lounge, unpacked and relaxed then headed back to MK. We had Tonys ressies!

We both had shrimp scampi and then I had the chocolate cheese cake and Tommy had tiramasu

We hit a few rides then went into Monsters Laughing Floor and when we come out we were shocked to see Tomorrow Land compeletly flooded! I mean it was more than ankle deep!

So we swam our way back to the monorail and went back to the Poly, I was dissapointed b/c it was our only night to see Spectro but it wasnt in the cards for us. Back at the room we watched a little tv and fell asleep.
