How tall is/was your 4 year old DS?

My kids are short. One was 38" at age 4, the other was 37.5" (I just checked the wall chart). But I think yours should have no trouble growing 1 inch in 6 months. Even my slow growing kids could pull that one off.

My dd4 was 40 inches our last trip 1 month after her b-day and my ds4 was 39.75. They had no issues getting on the 40inch rides. I presume my sons shoes added the 1/4 inch. Now almost 1 year later my dd is now 43 inches and my ds is 42.75. They both had huge growth spurts... All kids are different but I think the average growth for that age is 2 inches.

Have a great time. :)

Our 4 year old DS turns 5 late August. He is 47". On our recent trip trip he cried over Primeval Whirl. To him it looks like a "kiddie" ride with the all the spinning and colors everywhere, but the height requirement is taller than Expedition Everest. He couldn't figure out why he got to ride EE, but they wouldn't let him ride PW. I kind of agree with him. It seems like a little bit of poor planning. The DinoLand area looks like a childrens zone with the colors and characters (Chester & Hester) roaming around. You would think that everything in that area would be suitable for little ones.

DS had his 4th birthday yesterday and is 39 inches barefoot, 39 1/2 if he stands up as straight and tall as he can. We are bringing him back to WDW at Thanksgiving so keeping fingers crossed for a little spurt between now and then. I never thought of him as being on the short side until at the playground yesterday, he was playing with a little boy who was 3 1/2 yrs. who was a good 6 inches taller than DS- the kid could see clear over the top of DS's bike helmet.

Good luck to our boys in getting their inch!!

Poor planning- I agree. It looked tame to me at first too. But my coaster junkie 15yo ds and I swore we'd never ride it again. That is one rough ride!

my ds just got checked and he is 42" tall and 42 lbs. is in the 90th precent class for his age 4 1/2. your ds should be just fine by the trip. :)

My DS will turn 4 on the 4th of July :bday: When we went to Disneyland in December he was just over 40 inches and was able to ride what he wanted to, even the TOT :scared1: I think he has grown at least an inch since then, but we'll see come check up time. It's tough when they really want to ride something and they can't, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

My DS will be 4 in August and we're going to WDW in September. He's right at 39 inches right now. I was hoping he'd get to 40 inches by then, but I'm having serious doubts. He's never had a growth spurt in his life. He's a slow and steady grower. I just don't see him hitting 40 inches by then, but I really hope he does. My niece is going as well and is 4 weeks younger than DS and I'm pretty sure she's already past 40. It seems like all the girls in his class are bigger than him though and all the boys are similarly sized.

If you google "Pediatric Growth Charts" you can find the ones that the pediatrician' have. Plot on there what your DS was at his last annual checkup to find out what % curve he's on, and you can sorta predict whether he'll be 40" by December. Not a guarantee, but it does give you some idea.

My DD just went for her check-up today, she turned 4 beginning of May, and is 40 1/4 inches. HTHs

My ds will be 4 tomorrow, and he was just shy of the 40-inch mark on our trip last week. Like 1/4 inch short, and he didn't get to ride anything but Star Tours. He wasn't tall enough, but they let him go anyway.

My DS just turned 3 and is 38 inches. I was hoping he would grow to 40 inches before our October trip :rolleyes1 . Guess he won't get to ride Test track. On the other hand DD7 is 45.5 inches and 42 lbs. She barely made the height for Everest but they let her go on it since she was a hair below.

He should be ok. DS4 had his check-up/physical last August (2 months after turning 4). He was 39" at that visit and I was worried he wouldn't have that extra inch for our Disney trip that October. When October rolled around, DS was about 40"-41" tall and had no problems on the rides. He was just a wee bit shy of the height requirement for EE, though.

Dd (not ds) is 4 1/2 and just 40 inches. She is so excited to be able to ride more attractions!! Barnstormer was becoming a bit too tame for her!
