size 5 1/2 shoes for a 7 year old? My daughter is soooo difficult to keep in shoes. Is this normal for a 7 year old to have such big feet?

Wow! I thought MY daughter was growing fast! She's 9 and she wears a size 6 woman's shoe. I believe that somewhere equal to a size4-5 girls...she's about 4'8", but my husband is over 6' tall, I'm only 5'4":smooth: .

i wore a size 6 shoe when i was 8. i'm 5'10" now. :p

And on the flip side, I'm 5'10" and wear a size 7 1/2 shoe. I don't think shoe size is always directly related to how tall one is.

im only like 5'3' and i wear size 7 shoe sometimes 6 1/2 depends on the shoe. when i was 10 i wore size 12 in girls so me feet have just begun to grow in high school!! i thought i was going to have baby sized feet the rest of my life. im so glad i got over that ;)

Our DD is and has always been 75-90% for height. At her 4 year old check up we were told to expect she would be 5-7 to 5-9 once she reaches her full height. At 4 she is wearing a size 11 shoe, still in childrens but not likely for much longer...

There is a mathematical formula I saw somewhere to figure about a 3 inch range of height based on mother's and father's heights. Of course, I didn't bother to write it down or rip it out of the magazine and now would love to see it for DS (1). He's been 95
+ percentile for height all along. I'll have to see if I can find the formula. Anyone else ever seen this?

My 10 year old DS, who is 5' tall, wears a men's size 9 shoe. I'm dreading what the upcoming years are going to do to our shoe budget.

His pediatrician estimates that he'll be somewhere between 6'3" and 6'6" when all is said and done. I hope he stops a bit short of that.

Well, my son is 6 and still wearing a child's 12. My DD#2 is 9 and wearing almost a 4.
My 12 year old wears a size 9 womens!!!!! She is 5'3" and I hope she grows "into her feet". I wore an 8 until I had kids (now an 8 1/2). She wears bigger shoes than I do!
The kicker (no pun intended) is that she goes through sneakers just as fast, but they cost twice as much! $50 for a decent pair, even $30 for name brands at Value City!

I've seen some articles that say double a child's height at age 2 and that's about what he/she will be at full height.

Thanks for that info CEDmom - my daughter is 2 now and 34 inches. She wears a 6 1/2 wide toddler shoe. I can see her being 5'6" since I am 5'5" and my husband is 6'.

OT - CEDmom, I love all the different pictures you post of your daughter - she is so cute.

Two of my kids have quite large feet. DD is tall for her age; DS is not tall for his age - just average.

Thanks. What happened to that cute picture you had up of your DD?

My husband is 6'4" and only wears a size 10.5. He has small hands too, cant' palm a basketball (this really bothers him ). So, foot size is not always porportionate to height.

Thanks Snoopy! That must be close to it; one of my DD's numbers was what came up.

Our youngest just turned 7 and she is a size 5. She is also 6" taller than her DS at this age! DS, 15, is 6'3" and wears a size 15! Arrggg I need to open a shoe store!
