First time I have tried a poll, so if its not right bear with me.

As a visitor from the UK I normally stay at DVC for 3 weeks each year. I mostly purchase AP's allow them to lapse at the 2nd of the second trip within 365days. I was wondering has the AP Discount altered your pass purchase plans? and do you view this as money in the bank or more money to spend on your trip? and will you as a result take more trips within the year of the pass?

Lets see. Yes, Yes and Yes. :)

We had gone back to using our park hopper passes when the APs went up in price and changed the renewal policy. We would go to WDW once a year and just go into the parks 3 days and relax the rest of the time. We had APs to Universal and we would go over there one day during our visit and either start or end our vacation there for 2 to 3 days.

Now we have put our extra Universal AP vouchers in the 'vault' and we bought Disney APs. We will go to WDW 3 times in a year with an AP. And because we feel that WDW is treating us DVCers better, we are most definately going to spend more $$ in the parks.

Oh yeah, great poll! :cool1:

I bought new AP's in December of last year, before the discount came out. So I haven't had the opportunity to buy the DVC passes yet. Have a trip at the end of November, so I will not need tickets again until May 2006. So my answer would be "had AP's before, will continue to buy AP's".

Our plans for 2005 and 2006 changed due to this discount.

The original plan was to go to Disney for 7 nights in May 2005 and another 7 nights in May 2006 and purchase a 10 day MYW with hopping, water parks and no exp to use for both trips.

With the new AP discount it changed to:
8 nights in May 2005
6 nights in Jan 2006
8 nights in May 2007

So, we added a trip and spent more time in theme parks since our MYW pass would have kept us from being in the 4 major parks every day. We still went to two water parks (one on an old hopper pass and the other we paid for) and then would go into a theme park that evening.

We also ate in theme parks more than we would have with the original plan.
