How strict is Disney with the min/max number?

My fiance and I know we want to have our wedding in Disney. We really like the Atlantic City Dance hall for an afternoon reception but when we look at the min numbers it said somthing like 100. We would like to keep the number of guests to about 60. I was reading another thread that someone had their reception there but there was only about 50 people in attendance. The post was from about 2 years ago so I'm sure things have changed since then. We also would like to have the dessert part at night in Italy by the gondalas and the website accually has two different sets of max/min numbers. One page says 50-80 and the other says 100-150. I know Italy has two locations so i thought maybe thats why the numbers were different but when i checked both forms it was for the same location. So anyone have any experience with this??

I'm not sure where you're getting those numbers, but I know that Atlantic Dance Hall does not have a minimum of 100 people. We are having less than that at Atlantic Dance Hall. Where are those numbers from?

The virtual tour on the website is very misleading with some of their numbers! I had the same question for our reception and my consultant assured me that if we didn't meet 100 guests minimum they weren't going to kick us out of the space, all that matters (the way she phrased it to us) is that with the number of people you have coming that you meet your food and beverage minimum. My fiance and I went for a site tour in October and absolutely fell in love with the dance hall!! It is definitely a wow factor and different from your typical ballroom, and we were ecstatic to find out that we secured the location (on Monday) for our reception. I hope this helps with your planning and definitely look into the dance hall (visit it in person if you can!) because it is a spectacular venue!!

The numbers came from the Disney wedding website. When you do a virtual tour and then chose compare venues at says min is 150 and max is 200.

I also read on a different website that for the Atlantic Dance hall there is a food and beverage min based upon the time you have it like $1750 min when its before 5pm, $7500 between 5pm - 8pm then it goes way up in price if it after 8pm or on a weekend. Is that the case??

The only days you can have an event at ADH after 8pm is Sunday and Monday. ADH is open to the public Tuesday - Saturday nights.

The Food and Bev minimum for ADH is $1,475 for events ending before 5 p.m. and $5,000 after 5 p.m. The only differences in regards to day of the week for ADH are that you can't have a reception that ends after 8 p.m. on any days except Sunday and Monday, as it opens to the public the rest of the week. Have you downloaded the Passporter's Guide? It has a lot of useful and accurate information.
