I am thinking about buying in to DVC. Problem is when we travel I usually have DH, DS, DD, and my sister. So most rooms say sleeps up to 4, how stricked are they on this? I'm just trying to figure out if I they really limit you to 4 people. I have a 4 1/2 year old and 14 month old they won't take up much room at all. Would this really matter or do they limit you to only 4 guests?

They are strict (ie there is no way they'll have room keys - which are necessary if you want them to participate in Extra Magic Hours).

Also, your 4.5 year old and 14 month old will not stay at those ages -- they'll get older and need more space.

Studios and one bedrooms sleep 4 plus a child under 3 years old in a pak-n-play. So you will be within occupacy limits for a few years. AKV one bedrooms, except for the value one bedrooms, will sleep 5, they have a pull out sleep chair in addition to the sofa. Value one bedroom units at the AKV are smaller, and have no sleep chair, they still sleep 4.

Member Services has been allowing 5 of any age in one bedroom units at other resorts, but DVC will not provide bedding or towels. Additional towel paks are available for $6. You will need to provide an air mattress or sleeping bag. As to whether 5 will be allowed anywhere except AKV in the future is unknown.

As occupancy is a hot topic here, it is limited to this thread:
