Do the resorts keep the pools heated? Trying to decide when to go. I want Oct. but my daughter wants Jan. she has a son with special needs and he likes to swim , but he also doesn't do well on hot days. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have been to WDW several times in January and pool weather is hit or miss. The pools are heated and you are likely to get at least one or two warm enough air temp days to swim in comfort. I would not buy extra waterpark passes because of it. The good news is that like this Buffalo Gal you will be away from the Frozen Tundra and even 55 wil be warm ;). My kids laughed last time we were there, people being told not to forget their hats and gloves for a 50 degree day, they wanted to wear shorts!:beach:

We used the pool at least three times last January, as well as our two previous December trips. It was hot, but not blazing, and the water was a comfortable temperature, even at night.

On these same trips, we also needed warm clothes - I wore a sweater and Uggs on our last day during the day, and the previous day was warm enough for t shirts. It's quite variable, but you should experience pool weather once or twice during your trip if you decide to go in January.

We gave up on the December/January trips.... Weather is just too iffy fir my money.... We enjoy lounging at the pool and swimming every afternoon....they say the pool is heated, but not to the degree we prefer, 5 degrees over ambient temps doesn't do it for us....

October and August are our preferred months..... Children back to school, value season.... Temps conducive for lounging and swimming.... We enjoy the Florida heat... Don't ever want to go to WDW again and need costs and hats (January and December trips we took).... That I can do at home!

We have gone in Jan and Feb and swam both times. It really depends on the weather, but if you are swimming mostly in the day you should be fine. We also swam at night which got a little cold (the air), but we still worked with it. And the pools are all heated, its just coming out of the pool that is hard, so have those towels ready!!! ;)
